Samuel French Short Play Festival Announces Semi-Finalists, Presented 6/13-18

The Samuel French, Inc. Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival announces the 40 semi-finalists for its 35th annual season. Chosen from hundreds of submissions by playwriting workshops, university theatre programs, and professional companies both in the U.S. and abroad, these 40 plays will be presented July 13th - 18th at the Lion Theatre in Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street). Out of these plays, six finalists will be chosen by the Samuel French, Inc. editorial staff to receive publication and licensing contracts.

The Samuel French, Inc. Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival announces the 40 semi-finalists for its 35th annual season. The world's oldest and largest publisher and licensor of plays, Samuel French Inc., is proud to celebrate its newest release 'Off Off Broadway Festival Plays, 33rd Series' --A collection of winning plays from its acclaimed '2008 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival' on Tuesday, January 27th (5:30- 7PM) at the Drama Book Shop (250 W. 40th Street). The launch celebration will include play readings and appearances by many of the winning authors who will be on hand to sign collection copies. The event is FREE and open to the public. 'Off Off Broadway Festival Plays, 33rd Series' includes the following winning plays: Juniper; Jubilee by Janine Nabers; Aryavana Flies, Or A Pretty Dish by Sheila Callaghan; The Thread Men by Thomas Dunn; The Dying Breed by Thomas Higgins; The Grave by Gabe McKinley and F*cking Art by Bekah Brunstetter Applications for the 2009 festival will also be available and Samuel French editorial staff will be on hand to answer questions about the 2009 festival.
