The Samuel French, Inc. Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival announces the 40 semi-finalists for its 35th annual season. Chosen from hundreds of submissions by playwriting workshops, university theatre programs, and professional companies both in the U.S. and abroad, these 40 plays will be presented July 13th - 18th at the Lion Theatre in Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street). Out of these plays, six finalists will be chosen by the Samuel French, Inc. editorial staff to receive publication and licensing contracts.

The launch celebration will include play readings and appearances by many of the winning authors who will be on hand to sign collection copies. The event is FREE and open to the public. Babel Theatre Project (Geordie Broadwater, Artistic Director, Jeremy Blocker, Producing Director) is excited to present readings by six of New York's finest up-and-coming playwrights in their festival of readings entitled GROUNDWORK The readings will take place at the 78th Street Theatre Lab, Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th beginning at 1PM.

From a selection of 40 short plays, six plays have been chosen as the winning scripts from the 33rd Annual Samuel French Inc. Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival which concluded yesterday, July 20th.

A selection of 40 short plays, chosen from over 450 submissions by playwriting workshops, university theatre programs, and professional companies nationwide will be presented at the 33rd Annual Samuel French Inc. Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival on July 15th at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street).

Babel Theatre Project presents readings by six of New York's finest up-and-coming playwrights in their festival of readings, GROUNDWORK. The readings will take place at Upstairs at the 45th Street Theatre, Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27 beginning at 1PM.
