Sundance Institute Announces 2020 Directors & Screenwriters Lab Fellows

11 independent filmmakers developing 10 projects have been selected for the 2020 Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs, reimagined and expressed digitally this year on Sundance Co//ab. These Labs are at the heart of the nonprofit Institute's long-standing support for artists, and will connect curated selections of Fellows with Creative Advisors and Industry mentors across multiple disciplines.

Coachella Has Been Postponed Due to Coronavirus Concern

Deadline reports that Coachella music festival has been postponed to this October amid concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. The festival was scheduled for April 10-12 and April 17-19.

KID BE KID Releases New Single 'Slide Feat. Julia Kadel & Simon Denizart'

Avant Neo-Soul meets jazz musician KID BE KID has released her new single, 'Slide feat. Julia Kadel & Simon Denizart', on the 6th of March. The track premiered via BBC Radio 1Xtra's Jamz Supernova and is lifted off of her upcoming EP, Lovely Genders which will be released on 20 March via SPRINGSTOFF. While she composed and produced the EP herself, KID BE KID sought assistance from LAD AGABEKOV (Grand Corps Malade, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Octave One) for the master engineering. She has made quite a name for herself on the jazz festival scene, appearing at Fusion Festival (Kate Tempest), Festival International de Jazz de Montreal (Norah Jones, Jacob Collier, Melody Gardot), Elbjazz (Jamie Cullum, Kamaal Williams, Jason Moran) as well as the European Hip Hop Studies Conference, where she appeared as both a speaker and a performer. A number of publications have begun to take note of KID BE KID with features appearing in COMPLEX, BADISCHE ZEITUNG and Qiez and airplay from Worldwide FM and KCRW.

Produced by Beth Morrison Projects, one of the most influential and innovative taste makers on the forefront of the 'indie opera' movement, Aging Magician opens on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 7:30 PM at the Balboa Theatre. Additional performances are Saturday March 14 at 2 PM and at 7:30 PM, 2020.

The GRAMMY AWARDS Premiere Ceremony took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. PT. Preceding the 62nd Annual GRAMMY AWARDS telecast, the Premiere Ceremony was hosted by two-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Imogen Heap and featured a number of performances by current GRAMMY nominees. Performers included classical violinist Nicola Benedetti, jazz legend Chick Corea, folk music supergroup I'm With Her, West African sensation Angélique Kidjo and Best New Artist nominee Yola.

Fifteen screenwriters will convene to advance their independent projects at Sundance Institute's January Screenwriters Lab, taking place at the Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah, from January 17-22, 2020. At the Lab, the screenwriters will immerse themselves in a rigorous and holistic creative process, working to further develop their scripts with the mentorship of accomplished Creative Advisors.

To celebrate the release of Thom Yorke's new video for 'Last I Heard (...He Was Circling The Drain)”from his current album ANIMA (released June 27 on XL Recordings), ANIMA Technologies opened its L.A. offices with a three-day immersive first look event.  The 5-minute short film, made at the Brooklyn-based experimental studio Art Camp, is set in a dream world inspired by fragments of Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood's imagination and made up of over 3000 hand-illustrated frames. The first clips of the film were shown throughout the ANIMA Technologies' offices, on desktop monitors as well as a custom-constructed TV wall. Sound experience was provided by Sonos.

Thom Yorke's March 30th show at Radio City Music Hall is sold out. Due to overwhelming demand Thom Yorke, Nigel Godrich and Tarik Barri a/k/a Tomorrow's Modern Boxes will be adding a second New York City show on March 31st at Hammerstein Ballroom. Tickets for March 31st go on sale Friday, October 25th at noon.
