Curve theatre will support home-schooling during the third national lockdown with a brand new educational initiative, Curve Classroom. Available on Curve’s website and YouTube channel, the free sessions will be available every weekday from 4pm and delivered by a range of leading artists including performers, designers and more.

Based on the number one best-selling picture book by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees, Giraffes Can't Dance will now run at Curve in Leicester this Christmas from 9 Dec – 5 Jan, extending its run into the new year following popularity with audiences. The show will then be performed at Rose Theatre Kingston across Easter, before touring the UK from May to August 2020.
Aria Entertainment Will Offer New Literary Department

Aria Entertainment, an independent producing company has announced today that they will offer a full time literary department for International New Musicals. Since 2013, Aria have offered an annual festival of new musicals which has supported over 100 new musicals in development from showcases of new musicals, to readings and also full productions - with last year's headline musical Unexpected Joy receiving premieres both in London and Off-Broadway.

The Rachel Thorne Germond Performance Collage will perform a program of multimedia works, including two premieres, created by Germond between 2017 and 2019 incorporating video projection, performance, and photography. Intrigued by a wide range of random and disparate inputs from modern life, choreographer Germond employs multiple strategies of investigation, in which ambiguous juxtapositions and new unfamiliar languages come to life. February 14-16, 8 PM, at University Settlement House, 184 Eldridge Street. All tickets are priced at a very affordable $15.

Paul Taylor-Mills is delighted to announce MT Fest UK, a two-week festival of new musical theatre at The Other Palace from Monday 11 to Saturday 23 February 2019. The festival will present new work by both emerging and established writers, as well as programming talks and concerts from some of the most celebrated performers, writers and producers currently working in musical theatre. All tickets to events and performances will be between £10-15.

With the world premiere double-bill of Nick Dear's Hogarth's Progress currently playing at Rose Theatre Kingston as part of its 10th anniversary season, the company today announces its Spring 2019 season. This will be the first season presented in the venue's newly reconfigured auditorium, with developments taking place in January 2019 following a capital fundraising programme.

Paul Taylor-Mills has recently stepped down as the Artistic Director of The Other Palace, though he will continue working there in the role of Affiliate Producer while also pursuing his own independent projects. He has many producing credits to his name already, including the popular In the Heights at the Southwark Playhouse and King's Cross Theatre and Heathers currently on at The Other Palace which will transfer to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in September.

Curve has announced the casting for its world-premiere Made at Curve production of Memoirs of an Asian Football Casual, running in Leicester from 26th September - 6th October 2018. The production is adapted for the stage by Curve Associate Artist, Dougal Irvine from the 2012 book by Riaz Khan. The gritty drama will be directed by Curve's Artistic Director, Nikolai Foster.

Musical Theatre Network and Mercury Musical Developments today announce the programme selected from their pitching days held around the UK between September and November for BEAM2018. Fifty-eight of the new British musicals pitched at these days have been selected to be shared at the biennial industry showcase which will next year be held at Theatre Royal Stratford East on 1 and 2 March. BEAM is designed for anyone in a position to help develop and stage new British musicals to attend, bringing the most exciting musical theatre projects together from around the UK for industry professionals to grab the opportunity to become involved from the early stages of development.
