The new musical MONTGOMERY, about 15-year-old Claudette Colvin's fight against segregation, will premiere five songs in a brief online concert May 1.

After a highly successful run, and a 2017 BroadwayWorld Nomination for Best Show, JERSEY GIRL is back for one more performance, Friday January 19th, 7pm at Don't Tell Mama.JERSEY GIRL is a musical celebration of Lisa's home state with songs written, performed and even arranged by some of the greats who all grew up in NJ. Selections include legends from Frank Sinatra to Janis Ian, Bruce Springsteen to Nelson Riddle and many more. Directed by Lina Koutrakos, Music Direction by Rick Jensen. TORN and FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) will play at the Royal Court Theatre in September 2016. Torn explores a family broken by secrets and the scars left of things left unsaid. Father Comes Home From The Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3)tackles the legacy of slavery in the US and its influence on the African-American experience.

Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks has the uncanny ability to get under your skin and really make you feel the turmoil and misery of the black soul. In her latest play, now onstage at the Mark Taper Forum through May 15 entitled Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2, & 3), Parks takes the audience back to 1862 and the slave involvement in the Civil War starting with the anticipation and fear of going off to war, then witnessing the horrors of the actual war itself, and the aftermath for returning soldiers and their families. Under the sturdy hand of director Jo Bonney, the cast is amazing... and the play is mostly fascinating to watch, mainly because Parks' style does not repeat itself from part to part.

Center Theatre Group has announced casting for the West Coast premiere of Suzan-Lori Parks' 'Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3)' which begins previews April 5, opens April 17 and continues through May 15, 2016, at the Mark Taper Forum.

On Monday, November 30, playwright, novelist and songwriter Suzan-Lori Parks was awarded the 22nd annual Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prizeat The Public Theater in New York City.

The A.R.T. won seven Elliot Norton Awards given by the Boston Theatre Critics Association honoring Boston's best theatre productions. The annual awards are named for Boston's dean of American drama critics, Elliot Norton, who died in 2003 at the age of 100, and were held last night, May 11 at the Citi Shubert Theatre.
