As an actor, there is nothing like playing a leading role in a hit Broadway musical. Add to that having the chance to perform the role in front of a hometown audience, filled with family and friends, and you have the story of Stacey Todd Holt, who will play Leo Bloom, the budding theatrical producer in Mel Brooks' hit musical, The Producers when it plays the Fabulous Fox Theatre January 25 - 31, produced by Theater of the Stars. I had the chance to talk to Stacey about his Atlanta roots, his long-time professional relationship with Susan Stroman and what exactly made him "Want to be a Producer".

ELF, based upon the hit movie starring Will Ferrell, returned to Broadway this holiday season at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on November 9, 2012. Theatre Ventures in association with Unique Features and Jujamcyn Theaters present Jordan Gelber (Avenue Q, All My Sons) as Broadway's favorite elf, 'Buddy' in the hit holiday musical ELF. He will be joined by Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair) as 'Jovie' and Mitchell Sink as 'Michael' in his Broadway debut.

Variety reports that ELF is indeed headed back to Broadway this winter, and that the show will play the Al Hirschfeld Theater for 9 weeks, from November 9 to January 6 before KINKY BOOTS takes the theatre in the Spring.

On May 20th Joseph Macchia presented the annual Cabaret Cares Gala to benefit Help Is On The Way Today. Cabaret Cares is the monthly benefit series that brings together the best of The Broadway and Cabaret community of New York. Created by cabaret producer Joseph Macchia who is also the founder and the president of Help Is On The Way Today a grass roots non for profit organization that helps and assists children and teens living with HIV and AIDS in New York City.

Neal B., producer of Broadway Sings for Pride & www.NealB.tv, will present an hour long sampling of theatre's talent at the 19th Original GLBT Expo at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Expect to hear musical selections from Broadway standards to pop hits! The segment entitled Broadway Sings for Pride will feature many Broadway, national tour, and recording artists who support the LGBT community. This will take place at the Video Lounge on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 12:30pm and Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 3:30pm.
