Now in its 8th smash year, NEWSical The Musical, the 2011 winner of the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, is excited to welcome original cast member Christine Pedi back to the production. NEWSical is New York's ever-evolving musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof. Tackling stories ranging from the lowest depths of reality television to the highest office in the land nothing and no one in the news is safe! With Pedi's spot on impressions audiences can expect to see her take on Oprah's Presidential run as well as current White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. The current company features Scott Foster (Broadway's Brooklyn) Susan Mosher (Hairspray) and Michael West (When Pigs Fly).

The Marvelous Wonderettes are back! The long-running Off-Broadway hit musical celebrated its opening night at New York's Theatre Row last night, April 28th. The show, featuring such classic fifties and sixties hits as 'Lollipop,' 'Dream Lover,' 'Stupid Cupid,' 'Son of a Preacher Man,' 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,' and 'It's My Party,' stars Christina Bianco as Missy, Kathy Brier as Suzy, Jenna Leigh Green as Cindy Lou, and Sally Schwab as Betty Jean. Laura Woyasz also stars as the 'Wonderstudy'. Prospect Theater Company will present the New York premiere of Jasper in Deadland, a new musical with book by Hunter Foster and Ryan Scott Oliver, and music and lyrics by Oliver, and starring Matt Doyle. Performances are March 16 through April 13 at the West End Theatre in the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew. A press opening is scheduled for March 26 at 7:30pm. The cast has been announced for Gerard Alessandrini's FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, one of NYC's best-loved and highly anticipated productions, which happily returns to New York with FORBIDDEN BROADWAY; Alive and STILL Kicking on February 22nd at the newly refurbished Davenport Theatre (354 W. 45th Street, Between 8th and 9th Avenues). ERICA DORFLER (Book of Mormon, Memphis), CARTER CALVERT (Ain't Nothin' But The Blues, Smokey Joe's Cafe) and join SCOTT RICHARD FOSTER and MARCUS STEVENS, who starred in last year's edition. FORBIDDEN BROADWAY; Alive and STILL Kicking features brand new takes on the shows that opened in Forbidden Broadway's absence: Pippin, Kinky Boots, Matilda and Motown along with highlights from last season's acclaimed and very popular edition: Once, Evita, Newsies, Book of Mormon, among others. Over the course of the spring, Alessandrini will continue to add new material to reflect the season's openings, and unveil the new edition around the time of the Tony Awards.

Casting is now complete for The Chocolate Show!, the world's tastiest new musical having its world premiere this winter in NYC. Arriving just in time for Valentine's Day, The Chocolate Show! will feature Emily McNamara, Laura D'Andre, Scott Richard Foster, Talene Monahon and Andrew Pandaleon. Performances begin on Saturday, February 1 with an official opening night set for Friday, February 14 at the 47th Street Theatre, 304 West 47th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Featuring book and music by Alan Golub & Laura Goldfader, lyrics by Mr. Golub, The Chocolate Show! is directed by Dan Foster, choreographed by Grady McLeod Bowman and under the music direction of Jeffrey Klitz, who also provided the arrangements and orchestrations.
