The staff and board of Rubicon Theatre in Ventura will open the company’s doors once again for the 2022-2023 “Welcome Home” Season.  

Two solo works by members of the Echo Theater Company are set for performances under the collective title Alone Together: Solos at the Echo. Conceived, written and performed by Ann Noble, Little Parts Hunts a Baby-Daddy will run Tuesdays at 8 p.m., March 15 through April 5. Created and performed by Sky Paley, Antiman can be seen every Sunday at 7:30 p.m., March 20 through April 10.

The Encore Musical Theatre Company kicks off 2022 with another exciting live music event, The Eagles Tribute Concert.  As with their sell-out Queen Tribute last fall, The Encore promises to Take It to the Limit once again with an evening of classic hits, smooth harmonies and a rockin’ band led by music director, BRIAN ROSE. 

Meadow Brook Theatre celebrates the return of A Christmas Carol Running Nov. 19 through Dec. 23, 2021, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. 

After being shuttered for twenty-three months, the Pickard Theater is alive once again with musical theatre, as Maine State Music Theatre in a co-production with Portland Stage, opens its 2021 season with an energizing, nostalgic, and uplifting concert, DREAM, THE MUSIC OF THE EVERLY BROTHERS. The two-dozen-song retrospective and remembrance of the pioneering music of Don and Phil Everly is created, conceived, and performed by Ben Hope and Eric Scott Anthony, who star as the country rock duo which topped charts throughout the 1950s-1970s and returned to become a new creative force again in the 1980s onward.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the songs of yesteryear. Jukebox musicals usually leave me in a happy place by the time the show ends. In the case of Million Dollar Quartet at Arvada, this show left me feeling the same way I felt from the moment it started - joyful.

John and Toni Baumgartner, founding members of New Jersey band Speed the Plough, were on a planned band hiatus last winter when they started working on some new music.

Over the weekend (and just in time for Christmas), the two-man production featuring actor Jeffries Thaiss and musician Eric Scott Anthony conducted an engaging and unique Dickens experience to get the crowd in the holiday spirit. The show was called CHARLES DICKENS A CHRISTMAS CAROL A PLAY WITH MUSIC, and it was an absolute delight.

a??a??a??a??a??a??a??Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, a Play with Music will make its New York City Debut in December 2019 with twelve performances across four city landmarks after last year's successful run in Boston. This two-man production features Dickens' original language supported by beloved Christmas songs and old-fashioned Foley-style sound effects, all performed live (see video sneak-peek here).

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT are thrilled to present the second show of their 2019-2020 season, Roald Dahl's MATILDA, THE MUSICAL, book by Dennis Kelly, music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, musical direction by Jennifer Lin, choreography by Kate Dunn and directed by Michael Matthews. Take a break from the frenzy of everyday life and enjoy Smoke on the Mountain, a wholesome celebration of faith, community, and Appalachian Music. Set in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina around 1938, Smoke on the Mountain brings to life a small-town musical revival featuring the traveling Sanders Family as they play the best of bluegrass, gospel, and hymns. Audiences will recognize beloved songs such as “Rock of Ages”, “The Church in the Wildwood”, “A Wonderful Time Up There,” and more as they are performed by talented actor-musicians. Running October 4th - 19th, Smoke on the Mountain, showcases the power of music to bring us all together and will have audiences singing along.

GRUMPY OLD MEN: THE MUSICAL will preview on Friday, September 20, 2019 (with a press opening on Saturday, September 21 at 8pm) and runs through Sunday, October 13, 2018 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.  

Rebecca Turner is a country-folk-rock singer-songwriter formerly of New York and Los Angeles, now residing in Maplewood, NJ. She is releasing her third album The New Wrong Way November 6.

Rubicon Theatre Company presents an updated limited-engagement encore run of last year's World Premiere of I DIG ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC directed by James O'Neil. This year's production features an all new cast starring Yvette Cason, Harley Jay, Beau Moore, Charlotte Morris and Scott Anthony. I Dig Rock and Roll Music begins previews on September 11, will have its press opening on Saturday September 14 at 7 p.m., and performances will continue September 15 through September 29 at Rubicon Theatre, 1006 E. Main Street in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District.

Due to scheduling issues, Lillias White will no longer be able to perform in I DIG ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC for this limited run at the Rubicon Theatre; and Yvette Cason (Broadway credits include Play On!, for which she also won an Ovation Award and Dreamgirls. Her regional credits include Blues in the Night at the Wallis and Shout Sister Shout at the Pasadena Playhouse), will now perform with the production through closing.
