George Takei, who recently starred in the Broadway musical Allegiance, has been cast as 'Reciter' in Classic Stage Company's upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's PACIFIC OVERTURES, to be directed by Tony Award winner (and 2016 Tony Award nominee) John Doyle, who this season takes the reins as Artistic Director of the vital East Village theater company.

New York Wine Events announces a star-filled line up for Wine & Jazz On The River, a new entertainment cruise series just in time for summer 2016. The series, part of the new Circle Live Summer Concert series at Pier 81's North River Landing, will take place on the luxurious World Yacht Duchess and includes 4 nights on the Hudson featuring 4 contemporary jazz artists in a splendid setting. Shows are Thursday evenings: July 7, July 21, August 25 and September 22 with Boarding at 6:00 PM and Cruise Departure at 7:00 PM. The Duchess sails from North River Landing, Pier 81 41st St. & West Side Highway.

New York Wine Events is pleased to announce three spring wine events scheduled for May 2016 in the Metro New York area. On Saturday, May 7, the 2nd Annual NYC Spring Wine Festival moves to a new venue, NYY Steak in Midtown Manhattan. On Friday, May 13, the 9th Annual New Jersey Spring Wine Festival returns to the Hilton Short Hills from 7-10pm. Finally, on Saturday, May 21, the 2nd Annual Brooklyn Crush Wine & Artisanal Food Festival: Spring Edition returns to Industry City's Factory Floor in Sunset Park Brooklyn. The Brooklyn and NYC events, curated by Vintry Fine Wines, feature a choice of two tasting sessions: Afternoon: 2-5pm or Evening: 7-10pm.

ALLEGIANCE plays its final performance on Broadway today, February 14, 2016. Performances began at the Longacre Theatre on October 6, 2015, and the production officially opened on November 8, 2015. At the time of its closing, the musical will have played 37 previews and 113 regular performances, and will have been seen by approximately 120,000 people, a number that eerily echoes the number of Japanese Americans who were directly impacted by the events that inspired the show. Productions and ATA have announced that the new American musical Allegiance has partnered with Omaze, the fundraising platform that gives you the opportunity to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences while donating to great causes. For a chance to win, fans can donate $10 or more to Takei Over The Town with George Takei and raise money for students to attend performances of Allegiance through Inspire Change. The winner will fly to New York City and kick off the evening by having dinner with George, receive VIP tickets to Allegiance and meet the cast. This weekend brought out celebs to Broadway catching ALLEGIANCE with George Takei and Lea Salonga at the Longacre Theatre. Lucy Liu caught the show and joined cast members Michael K. Lee, George Takei, Lea Salonga and Telly Leung onstage for a photo moment. Also seen at performances were Glee's Jenna Ushkowitz (who appeared on the show with Telly Leung) and comedian Gilbert Gottfried.

The new Broadway musical Allegiance celebrated the holidays with a special appearance at the iconic Lord & Taylor flagship store in Manhattan last night. Tony winner Lea Salonga was joined byAllegiance co-stars Katie Rose Clarke and Aaron Albano for performances of the songs 'With You,' 'Stronger Than Before,' and Salonga's Act One-showstopper 'Higher.' George Takei has taken to YouTube to respond Donald Trump's comments on Muslim immigration, inviting the 2016 Republican Presidential hopeful to take in his new Broadway show, ALLEGIANCE. Takei captioned the video: 'Donald Trump recently said he might have supported the internment camps of WWII. I felt I had to respond, and in the best way I could.'
