Claybourne Elder & Sean Hudock Set for Wild Root's ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALL Workshops Next Month

The Wild Root Company, a non-profit New York City-based production endeavor committed to cultivating and presenting bold news works of theatre and film from emerging playwrights and screenwriters, will present a series of fully staged workshop performances of Rocco Natale's haunting new drama Room at the End of the Hall March 6-8, 2014 at the Fourth Street Theatre in Manhattan.

The Wild Root Company, a non-profit New York City-based production endeavor committed to cultivating bold new works from emerging playwrights and screenwriters, will present a series of fully staged workshop performances of Rocco Natale's acclaimed new drama ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALL at the Fourth Street Theatre in Manhattan March 6-8, 2014. Ross Evans (Broadway's BEAUTIFUL, VENUS IN FUR; Manhattan Theatre Club Mary Mill Directing Fellow) will direct the fully staged presentations with scenic design by Edward T. Morris (Yale Rep's STONES IN HIS POCKETS). Casting and additional creative team will be announced in the coming weeks.

Roots & Wings Theatrical's 6th Annual 'Duct Tape and A Dream Festival' Set for May

For the sixth installment of the Duct Tape and A Dream Festival, collaborative new works company Roots and Wings will showcase eight fresh premiers divided between two programs running in repertory May 15th-19th, 2013: A "Duct Tape" Program and a "Dream" Program. Both nightly programs are anchored by one longer piece and feature three shorter new works. The festival is truly eclectic including dance, clowning, devised theatre, a multi-media show, and new plays exploring a variety of subjects all written by emerging artists. The programs will play in rotation at the Bridge Theatre @ Shetler Studios, 244 West 54th Street, 12th Floor.

Claybourne Elder (Broadway's Bonnie & Clyde) and Sean Hudock (Private Romeo) will play estranged brothers Malky and Doug in two industry workshop readings of Rocco Natale's new two-hander ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALL. Ross Evans (Broadway's Venus in Fur; Mary Mill Directing Fellowship from Manhattan Theatre Club) will direct the invited readings, which will be held on the afternoon and evening of Friday February 22, 2013 at Manhattan Theatre Club's Creative Center. Kathy Snyder will Stage Manage.

Downtown Urban Theater Festival Announces Finalists for 2013 Season

Next year will mark the much-anticipated 11th annual season of the Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF) and from 120 submissions, DUTF has narrowed it down to 24 finalists. The decisions were extremely difficult due to the amazing plays received from gifted emerging writers who hail from across the U.S. and internationally from Canada, Israel and the United Kingdom.

'Keep It Short' Showcases New Talent @ Cutting Room 4/28

'KEEP IT SHORT,' an evening of three short plays and a number of musical performances showcasing the talents of 11 young performers blossoming in the Big Apple, will be presented at The Cutting Room, 19 West 24th Street (between Broadway and 6th Avenue), on Monday, April 28, from 7 to 10 PM. The event is being produced by The Plastic Flamingo Theatre Company and Stiletto Project, New York-based theatre companies started by, and featuring, alumni (1997 through 2007) of the University of Miami theatre program with the mission of promoting new talent in the city.
