The Hunter College Art Galleries and Department of Art & Art History present a site-specific, monumental, political work by the legendary conceptual artist Robert Longo that will comprise his largest public artwork to date.

The indisputable music icon Roger McGuinn returns to Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre in Malibu on Thursday, October 5 at 8 p.m.

HERE begins its 2017-2018 producing season with Stairway to Stardom, a world premiere Resident Artist production by Amanda Szeglowski / cakeface, commencing the 25th Anniversary of this award-winning, boundary-stretching institution. Stairway to Stardom, developed through the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP), will have 10 performances from September 12 - 23 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street), launching this milestone season.

HERE proudly announces its 2017-2018 producing season, marking the 25th Anniversary of this award-winning, boundary-stretching institution.  The 2017-2018 HERE lineup features three HERE Resident Artist world premieres; the world premiere of a HERE Artistic Director production by Kristin Marting; innovative works from the Dream Music Puppetry Program including a revival of Symphonie Fantastique by Basil Twist, internationally acclaimed artist and Artistic Director of HERE's Dream Music Puppetry Program; the sixth annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival, and HERE's yearly CULTUREMART festival, where HERE serves up a first look at new work in process from artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP).  The multidisciplinary productions in HERE's milestone 2017-2018 season represent the culmination of commissions and developmental residencies of up to three years in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) and/or the Dream Music Puppetry Program.  

Even the toughest heart of stone will turn into a paper heart with Liam O'Rafferty's new musical. After winning over audiences in 2016 during Edinburgh Fringe Festival with its 75-minute version, the show has now grown in a two-act, fully developed, heartwarming, and uplifting piece of theatre directed by Tania Azevedo.

Havana Film Festival NY (HFFNY) announces two new and hot releases coming from Chile and Uruguay to join the competition for the Havana Star Prize: Vida de Familia (Family Life), a 2017 Chilean drama directed by Alicia Scherson and Cristian Jimenez, which premiered in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and El Candidato (The Candidate) by renown Uruguayan actor Daniel Hendler, who recently won Best Director at the Miami International Film Festival.

The 18th Havana Film Festival New York (HFFNY) showcases the diversity of Latino voices and stories in a program that includes over 35 films. This year, HFFNY pays homage to one of Cuba's foremost forces in animation and storytelling, Juan Padron, and the late Argentine director Eliseo Subiela.

Melbourne Opera is bringing Gilbert & Sullivan (G&S) hilarity back to Melbourne, with a new production of H.M.S. Pinafore gallivanting onto The Athenaeum stage from 14 March.

'Welcome to Connor, My Hometown': is a heartwarming tale about a charming town as the community comes together to help one of its members. 'Welcome to Connor, My Hometown' is the creation of published author, Roger Stephen Smith.

Summer may be winding down but SummerStage, NYC's largest free performing arts festival still has several great theater and spoken word performances left. 

Director Joshua Chase Gold has been selected to be the 2016 SDCF Charles Abbott Fellow. He will be assisting Charles Abbott on his production of South Pacific at Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, PA.

En Garde Arts presents BOSSS, its new site-specific outdoor performance festival featuring new works by some of the New York City's most promising emerging theatre artists, this weekend, October 23-25 throughout Hudson River Park. The opening night party at The Frying Pan will now take place on October 23 at 7pm. (Tickets for the opening night party, on board the Frying Pan at Pier 66, are $250 or $75 for artists.)

'Can we all get along?' This famous plea uttered by Rodney King during the 1992 L.A. Riots, a reaction to the acquittal of the four LAPD officers who severely beat him a year earlier, is often what he's most remembered for. I admit that after more than 20 years, I had forgotten many of the details, and didn't even realize that he died three years ago. But in this one-man show written and performed by Roger Guenveur Smith, Rodney King's story comes alive again - the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's a virtuoso performance that is poetic and lyrical, harsh and disturbing. Roger has performed this piece around the world and has brought it to St. Paul's Penumbra Theatre for just two weeks. It's definitely something to see.
