Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, in partnership with Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen, At-Large Councilmember Elissa Silverman, At-Large Councilmember Robert White, Jr. and the D.C. Department of Employment Services, opens its doors for the 12th semi-annual D.C. Career Fair Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Mead Center (1101 Sixth St., SW). Throughout the past five years, Arena Stage has partnered with more than 100 participating organizations and served a combined total of nearly 8,000 community members by hosting regular career fairs.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announces a special post-show political forum for its production of the Tony and Olivier Award-nominated drama Frost/Nixon. Following the 2pm performance of Frost/Nixon on Saturday, February 2 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, audiences are invited to discuss the history and current relevance of the Watergate scandal with Dr. Theodore Glasser of Stanford University and Dr. Terri Bimes of University of California Berkeley in a conversation moderated by Cameron Wells, the assistant director of Frost/Nixon. Glasser, a professor emeritus of Communication whose research specializes in media practices and press accountability, and Bimes, a lecturer and Assistant Director of Research for the Institute of Governmental Studies who teaches about the presidency, will bring their unique perspectives to this free political forum, open to audience members and community members.

The recipients of NATPE's 16th Annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards are comedian and media mogul Byron Allen, producer and writer, Mara Brock Akil, former Chairman of NBC EntertainmentRobert Greenblatt, actress, singer and dancer Rita Moreno, award winning actress and comedian Betty White and actor Henry Winkler. They will receive the prestigious award at a special reception on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the Eden Roc in Miami Beach. The Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award is presented each year during the annual NATPE Miami Marketplace & Conference, which will take place from January 22 to 24, 2019, at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.

World premieres of an oratorio about the Underground Railroad that sets narratives of slaves running for freedom and their lives, and a work that sets poems calling for peace in Farsi, Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, and English: Sanctuary Road, music by Paul Moravec and text by Mark Campbell based upon the writings of William Still, a conductor for the Underground Railroad; and We Are One for chorus and orchestra by Behzad Ranjbaran, both completed within the last year, will be given their first performances by the Oratorio Society of New York (OSNY) led by Music Director Kent Tritle as the culminating concert of the OSNY's 145th season on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Carnegie Hall.
