Peter Mills Weiss and Julia Mounsey return to JACK with a preview of a new work that embraces the chaos and demise of a bygone performance scene. At this wake, held for a venue that never existed, there will be jokes, several reenactments, and even some snacks. Open Mic Night culminates in a eulogy — a speech celebrating not only the life of the fictional space, but of every real space we have lost, and the many lives we led in those spaces.

Eight songs in English, two lyrics written by friend Peter Jack Marmot, wordsmith and coach manager between London and Marbella, plus an Italian text for the song “Ero un num Ero”, built on an elementary and random numerical progression as if to point out that the so-called “inspiration”, at times, can only be a fairy tale to deceive the unwary listener.

Brooklyn performance and civic space JACK opens its space to public performance for the first time in 16 months, with three free concerts July 29 - 31 by virtuosic trumpet player/composer Peter Evans and his band, Being & Becoming. 

In March, theatres across the UK closed, and hundreds of pantomimes were cancelled due to the pandemic. Blue Peter legend Peter Duncan - a critically acclaimed panto dame, writer, producer and director – decided to film Jack and the Beanstalk in his back garden as an online alternative to be downloaded by families to watch together at home over Christmas.

FINDING NEVERLAND, the musical that made us all believe in our imagination, will be making its way to Waterbury's Palace Theater March 20 - 21.

This Saturday and Sunday, the Society for the Performing Arts invites you to fly away with three performances of Diane Paulus's FINDING NEVERLAND, a musical that follows the friendship between J.M. Barrie and the family that inspired his iconic character and story, Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up.

Finding Neverland, the enchanting Broadway musical set soaring across the U.S., will be presented by Society for the Performing Arts (SPA) in Jones Hall for the Performing Arts on April 13-14 for 3 shows. SPA will also host a SPA Family Day before the Sunday, April 14 matinee from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The SPA Family Day will feature a photo booth, fun activities, and decorations for patrons young and old. 

State Theatre New Jersey presents the Broadway musical Finding Neverland for three performances on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 8pm, and Saturday, March 23 at 2pm and 8pm. Tickets range from $35-$108.

Pumpkin King Danny Elfman is coming to Barclays Center in Brooklyn tonight and tomorrow, December 6 and 7, to perform his legendary role of Jack Skellington in a very special screening, with the music performed live by a full orchestra and choir, of Disney's timeless holiday classic, 'Tim Burton'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.'

Most of us have grown up with the story of Peter Pan; the story of a young boy who can fly, who never grows up and lives in Neverland, which can be found at the second star to the right. We heard it as a bedtime story, or enjoyed seeing Walt Disney bring the story to animated life, or even, if we were lucky, got to see it performed live on stage with actors flying about the audience. It is a magical story to be sure, one that has transcended time and elicits memories of a simpler time.
