Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institut has announced the expansion of Prysm Strings to include Prysm Prep, designed to specifically teach beginning string students the fundamentals of music reading and ensemble playing.

Branden Jacobs-Jenkins popular comedy APPROPRIATE gets its first Greenville production on June 10th.  The dark, family comedy is being produced by The Warehouse Theatre after originally being scheduled during the initial pandemic shutdown.  

Louis Scaglione, President and Music Director of PYO Music Institute (PYOMI), has announced that they have received the 2022 Grant for Arts Projects Award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support Tune Up Philly --  (Orchestral Pathways Program (TUP).

Taking the stage for their 6th Annual Festival Concert, the Young Musicians Debut Orchestra (YMDO) will perform at The Temple Performing Arts Center, located at 1837 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia, on Saturday May 21, 2022 at 4 p.m.

It is always a thrill to perform in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Cultural Campus, especially for the student musicians in Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, the most advanced ensemble of PYO Music Institute. They return to the hall on April 24, at 7 p.m. The ensemble, conducted by Maestro Louis Scaglione, has earned nationwide acclaim for their development of young musicians.

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2022 Premiere Play Festival. Now in its 17th year, the Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. This year's finalists were selected from 655 submissions.

The PYO Music Institute, one of the oldest and most respected orchestra programs in the nation, is announcing their schedule for in-person auditions.  Music students, age 6 to 21, are invited to participate in one of PYOMI's six, large ensemble programs.
