TAKE Dance Company, a contemporary dance ensemble known for its gentle blend of eastern and western sensibilities led by artistic director and choreographer Takehiro Ueyama, presents a program filled with exuberant play, human dancescapes and structural patterns that overflow the stage.

For 35 years, Pulitzer Prize winning THEATER FOR THE NEW CITY has nurtured hundreds of playwrights through its EMERGING PLAYWRIGHTS PROGRAM. In June, 2006, we launched NEW CITY, NEW BLOOD, a play reading series designed to serve our audiences and writers even better.

The Yoruba God Esu Elegba has been sentenced to live the life of a mortal African-American woman throughout the 20th Century as penance for causing human deformities and suffering. Inspired by the life and works of Zora Neale Hurston, the play takes us from the Harlem Renaissance, to the mystical realms of African gods, to present day Louisiana to impart a tale of faith, acceptance and love.

Abraxas STAGE COMPANY is pleased to announce, as part of the South Street Seaport Winter Theatre Season, the premiere of a new musical CRAZY HEAD SPACE, directed by Errickson Wilcox. Michael Martinez is proud to present An Evening of Music and Comedy V at Don't Tell Mama. This showcase and variety show will feature singer/songwriter Matt Hurd, singer/songwriter Paige Nichols, singer Maria Noe, and standup comic and singer Danielle Trzcinski. Comedian / actor Robert Brehm will be the special guest host. Producer Michael Martinez has previously presented showcases at Don't Tell Mama and several other New York City clubs. These showcases highlight emerging stars in comedy, music, and musical theater. Showtime is 7:00 pm, door opens at 6:30pm. Admission is $15.00, plus a two drink minimum. With strong influences from classic icons like Van Morrison and Paul Simon all the way to contemporary artists ranging from the likes of John Mayer to Kanye West, Matt's sound and style has been compared to the music of Jack Johnson and Matt Nathanson. He has a charming stage presence rooted in a strong performance and a subtle wit, which helps fans of all kinds of music enjoy listening to him. Although young, Matt has the charisma and appeal of a seasoned performer. Maria has most recently performed a cabaret featuring Maury Yeston's songcycle December Songs. Past shows include Crazy For You, Me & My Girl, How To Succeed..., Carousel, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Beauty and the Beast, as well as productions affiliated with Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and American Entertainment Productions.

Due to the extension of BABY IT'S YOU at the Coast Playhouse, the workshop production of the world premiere play, VERONICA, written by acclaimed playwright and Academy Award-nominee John Patrick Shanley ('Doubt'), directed by Daniel Allen Nelson and starring Livia De Paolis as Veronica will now open on Friday, February 20 and will continue for two weeks through Saturday, February 28 at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 6539 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.
