'Rio Mais Brasil, Nosso Musical' shows a picture of the country's musical richness, with songs from all regions and varied rhythms. It tells the story of a producer and a film director who decide to make a film that portrays the Brazilian people. Fiction and reality merge in the development of the script. The project moves a cast selection that draws artists from all regions, but cancellation of the production budget could put the idea at risk.

AN EVENING WITH SEU JORGE, THE LIFE AQUATIC - A TRIBUTE TO DAVID BOWIE TOUR is coming to Boulder Theater today, September 8, 2017.

Jorge will perform these songs, and those he recorded for the 2005 album The Life Aquatic - Studio Sessions featuring Seu Jorge, in his critically acclaimed live show The Life Aquatic - A Tribute to David Bowie, which will tour North American in June and September.

Latin Grammy Award-winning Flamenco composer and virtuoso guitarist, Vicente Amigo, known as one of the most dazzling Flamenco guitarists of his generation, returns to Los Angeles for one-night only at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, September 20 at 8:00 p.m. Hailing from Cordoba, Spain, Amigo has toured the world receiving many of Spain's most important awards and honors and is highly respected and admired for his artistic thirst and capacity for innovation and renovation.

Joe's Pub is proud to host an exciting and diverse array of upcoming Latinx events in August! Highlights include Argentine folk from Mavi Diaz & Las Folkies with special guest Maria Volonte on July 19; Cuban son ensemble El Septeto Santiaguero on July 28; That's Not Tango celebrating Astor Piazzolla on the 25th anniversary of his death on August 5 and 6; Patagonian trio Femina mixing Latin rhythms with international reggae and funk on August 10; Brazilian pop musician Aline Muniz, also on August 10; Brazilian jazz duo Livia Nestrovski & Fred Ferreira on August 11; and, Chicago mariachi ensemble Mariachi Herencia de Mexico on August 20.

Though Seu Jorge is one of Brazil's most celebrated singers and actors, he is perhaps best known here in the U.S. for his role in Wes Anderson's 2004 film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, in which Jorge reinterpreted a number of David Bowie's biggest hits. The songs, performed in Portuguese and featuring Jorge solo on acoustic guitar, became something entirely unique. So much so that Bowie himself was moved to say, 'Had Seu Jorge not recorded my songs in Portuguese, I would never have heard this new level of beauty which he has imbued them with.'
