12th Celebration Of The Arts Held In Howard County 4/25

The Howard County Arts Council, in its 28th year of service to the public of Howard County , presents the 12th Annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Jim Rouse Theatre, Wilde Lake High School , Columbia . The emcee for the event is Richard Story, Chief Executive Officer of the Howard County Economic Development Authority.

2009 Rising Star Award Finalists Announced

Nine finalists will compete for a cash prize totaling $5,000 in the Howard County Arts Council?s 2009 Rising Star Emerging Performing Artist Awards on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the 12th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County, to be held at the Jim Rouse Theatre, Wilde Lake High School, Columbia. The Celebration is a multi-faceted signature event, showcasing and raising funds for the arts in Howard County . Performing artists between the ages of 18-35, currently or recently living, working, performing regularly, or receiving training in Howard County, auditioned in January before a panel of professionals working in their field of discipline. Review criteria include artistic merit, demonstrated experience in the arts, and commitment to a career in the arts.

Fox, Johnson, Toft And Mahy To Star In JERSEY BOYS

Bobby Fox, Scott Johnson, Glaston Toft and Stephen Mahy will star in JERSEY BOYS - The story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Broadway's multi-award winning musical opening in Melbourne's Princess Theatre on July 4. Rehearsals begin in Melbourne in April. Bobby Fox will play Frankie Valli, Scott Johnson is Tommy DeVito, Glaston Toft is Nick Massi and Stephen Mahy is Bob Gaudio - The Four Seasons. JERSEY BOYS is the story of how four boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty. JERSEY BOYS features their hit songs Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Rag Doll, Oh What a Night and Can't Take My Eyes Off You, among many others.

NYTB Presents 'Everything' New Musical at The Duplex 2/18
