Asolo Repertory Theatre announced its 2022-2023. The season kicks off in November with one of the greatest American musicals of the 20th century, Kander and Ebb’s iconic CABARET (Nov. 16 – Dec. 31).

Asolo Repertory Theatre has reached its goal for Phase I of the Staging Our Future Capital/Endowment Campaign and is well into construction.

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly presents the third and final show of its 2022 winter repertory season – Lauren Yee's THE GREAT LEAP. Vanessa Stalling returns to direct the comedic drama, which was days away from its first performance when it was cancelled because of the pandemic in March of 2020.

The Peterson family has granted a combined $750,000 gift to Asolo Repertory Theatre in honor of the family's matriarch, Pasqualina “Lee” Peterson.

Asolo Rep will close its 2021 outdoor season with Ana Isabelle & Friends in Concert: Stand Back, Sarasota! The concert reunites some of the stars of the theatre's 2017 hit production of Evita. Directed by Broadway's Josh Rhodes, the concert previews April 15 &16, opens April 17 and runs thru April 24 on Asolo Rep's outdoor Terrace Stage, located on the front steps of the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Asolo Rep's Access to the Arts program will offer educational institutions the opportunity to stream one of the theatre's most groundbreaking productions: HAMLET, PRINCE OF CUBA, available now through June 11, 2021.

Asolo Rep is launching its Theatre for All initiative, a new, comprehensive, community-centered program designed to develop and build access to online and in-person arts education opportunities. Theatre for All is an opportunity to develop meaningful connections and relationships that can deeply impact our community and our artform.

Asolo Rep has announced casting for its upcoming production of Lerner and Loewe's Camelot. This concert production of David Lee's adaptation previews March 17 and 18, opens March 19 and runs through March 31 on Asolo Rep's outdoor Terrace Stage, located on the front steps of the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Asolo Rep continues its 2021 outdoor season with the launch of the rolling world premiere of Cheryl L. West's Fannie: The Music and Life of Fannie Lou Hamer. Directed by Henry Godinez with Music Direction and Arrangements by Felton Offard, Asolo Rep will start the “roll,” followed by productions to be announced at Goodman Theatre and Seattle Rep.

Through the generosity of the EdExploreSRQ for Performing Arts Explorations, John and Dorothy Brennan Charitable Fund, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County recently awarded Asolo Repertory Theatre a Strategic Partnership Grant of $81,500.

The Hermitage Artist Retreat, in collaboration with the Greenfield Foundation, has selected OBIE-winning playwright Aleshea Harris as the winner of the 2021 Hermitage Greenfield Prize, given this year in the artistic discipline of theater.
