IT'S ONLY A PLAY to Take Over Times Square Billboard with Social Media Initiative

Producers Tom Kirdahy, Roy Furman, and Ken Davenport announced today that in celebration of Opening Night of It's Only a Play, the production will be featured on Branded Cities' stunning digital Times Square billboard on the Thomson Reuters building. From 5:30PM - 10:30PM EST, the billboard will feature innovative Broadway audience engagement by live-streaming select selfies and photos taken by fans of the production that night, and using the hashtag: #ItsOnlyASelfie.

Stockard Channing Returns to IT'S ONLY A PLAY After Suffering Knee Injury

BroadwayWorld has just learned from a show representative that Stockard Channing, who had been temporarily out of Broadway's IT'S ONLY A PLAY due to a knee injury, is back in the show beginning today, October 1. In her absence, the role of 'Virginia Noyes' was played by her understudy- Isabel Keating.

Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation's leading recycler of electronics and e-waste, joined forces with the Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) for a special e-waste collection event to take place right in the heart of Times Square in New York City on Wednesday, September 17. Many of Broadway's leading shows and stars got involved and encouraged fans of live theatre - and all residents of New York City in general - to take advantage of the opportunity to unload unwanted electronics while doing something good for the environment. The star-studded Broadway production of the backstage comedy It's Only A Play, by 4-time Tony® Award winner Terrence McNally, began preview performances last night at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) with an opening night set for Thursday, October 9, 2014. As previously announced, Academy Award® winner F. Murray Abraham, Tony® Award winner Matthew Broderick, Emmy® and Tony® Award winner Stockard Channing, international film sensation Rupert Grint, Tony® Award winner Nathan Lane, Emmy® Award winner Megan Mullally, and newcomer Micah Stock star in It's Only a Play. 3-time Tony® Award winner Jack O'Brien directs.
The cast greeted fans outside of the stage door and BroadwayWorld was there for all of the excitement. Check out photos below!
