Snapdragon Productions today announce a UK tour of their acclaimed revival of Richard Bean's Toast, following a successful run at Park Theatre in 2014.  Matthew Kelly and Simon Greenall reprise their roles as Nellie and Cecil, with full cast to be announced soon.  The tour begins at the Rose Theatre Kingston from 4 - 13 February before playing eight further dates finishing at Nottingham Theatre Royal.

Debra Whitfield directs a cast that features Jim DiMunno Tim Dowd, Michael Engberg, Amy Handra, Darrell Purcell, Joshua Quat, Stewart A. Schneck, and Jenn Susi. This limited run continues through September 21st only. Olympics Über Alles will have scenic and lighting design by Duane Pagano with costume design by Janice O'Donnell and sound and projections design by Paul Bourgeois. The performance runs two hours including intermission.

'The Lower Depths' by Maxim Gorky is a powerful classical Russian play about a group of hilarious, downtrodden lodgers in a boarding house. Their lives consist of staving away hunger and poverty mixed with idle entertainment until a pilgrim, Luka, arrives on the scene. Luka brings with him tales of the world abroad as well as a seemingly bottomless supply of hope and dreams. He inspires the residents of the boarding house to reach and try to pick themselves up from the dregs of society, while teaching love and respect and responsibility. However, charged with the fire Luka kindles in them, the muck at The Lower Depths begins to stir, and the result is not as positive as Luka had hoped.

Double Down Productions presents the classical Russian play The Lower Depths by Max Gorky. From February 12th - 23rd, there will be performances every night Wednesday - Saturday at 8:00 PM. On Sundays there will be a 2:00 PM Matinee and a 7:00 PM evening performance. The performances will be located at The Grand Theater at The Producer's Club (358 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036). With King, Medlyn turns his attention to the pop star par excellence: Michael Jackson. King will contain radical reinterpretations of famous Michael Jackson songs, outside text (from Maxim Gorky's My Childhood, among other sources), some of Medlyn's personal biography and various elements of show business.

Howard Davies' Children of the Sun, at the National Theatre (following Philistines, The White Guard and The Cherry Orchard), opened to press in the Lyttelton last night and runs through 14 July 2013.

Forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include plays familiar, rare and new: Shakespeare's Othello, Gorky's Children of the Sun,James Baldwin's The Amen Corner;Marlowe's Edward II, Pirandello's Liola, Eugene O'Neill's Strange Interlude and Georg Kaiser's From Morning to Midnight. Tori Amos and Samuel Adamson's musical The Light Princess will premiere in October, and there will be a new adaptation of Emil and the Detectives for family audiences at Christmas.

The City of Arvada has announced the hiring of Philip C. Sneed as the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities new Executive Director. The announcement concludes a seven month national search to fill the Center's top position. Sneed who currently serves as the Producing Artistic Director of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival will assume his duties beginning February 4, 2013.
