In celebration of Black History Month, Ailey Extension is launching Ailey Legacy On-Demand, a series of on-demand workshops taught by the stars of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and presenting a variety of  workshops and classes that highlight Black contributions to the world of dance.

Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Dallas Summer Musicals are launching a new initiative to advance arts education accessibility during the pandemic. Between February 1-18, 2022, Dallas Black Dance Theatre will make available a virtual matinee performance of the highly acclaimed work ODETTA to every student and grade level in the Dallas Independent School District during Black History Month 2022.

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater brings its renowned repertory of modern dance to Philadelphia from January 28 to 30. Along with its signature, spiritual-inspired masterpiece, Revelations, performances will feature groundbreaking works of ballet, jazz, and modern choreography.

Society for the Performing Arts will present Houston favorite, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 7:30 PM, followed by performances on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM.

The Ailey organization will resume Ailey All Access with a fall series of free programs from August 25 – November 17 in advance of the much-anticipated return to the New York City Center stage for live performances this December.

Last night, Lincoln Center came back to life again with Dance Against Cancer, the largest ticketed dance event since venues shuttered in March of 2020 to the COVID pandemic. To date, Dance Against Cancer has raised over $2.1million dollars, and continues to honor the legacy of those who have lost their battle to cancer.

After a year of darkness, the curtain is once again rising on the performing arts in NYC. Dance Against Cancer, an annual performance presented by Erin Fogarty and Daniel Ulbricht to bring the global dance community together to fight cancer, announced Dance Against Cancer Outside on June 21, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park.

In this inspirational episode featuring City Center’s Principal Dance Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater dancers Jacqueline Green, Yannick Lebrun, and Renaldo Maurice work with Artistic Director Robert Battle, Resident Choreographer Jamar Roberts, and Associate Artistic Director Matthew Rushing on three varied pieces from the company’s rich repertory—Ailey’s signature classic Revelations, Battle’s solo Takademe, and Roberts’s Members Don’t Get Weary. 

International Dance Day is an annual global celebration of dance held on April 29th.

The Music Center re-imagined Spotlight’s offerings for the 2020–2021 year to be entirely digital and COVID safe.

After enduring a mandatory year-long studio closure due to the pandemic, the Dwana Smallwood Performing Arts Center will reopen its doors on April 5, 2021 in preparation for its highly-anticipated Heart of Brooklyn Spring Dance Series. 

Following two rounds of virtual auditions, The Music Center has selected 112 of Southern California’s most talented high school students as semifinalists in The Music Center’s 33rd annual Spotlight (Spotlight) program, a free nationally acclaimed arts training and scholarship program for teens.
