'Shanktunes: A Night of Original Songs by Lynne Shankel' will return to 54 Below on March 22, 2015 at 9:30 p.m.

54 Below just welcomed SHANKTUNES- an evening of original songs by Drama Desk-nominated orchestrator/arranger Lynne Shankel. Lynne was joined onstage by some of New York's finest talent for a fun-filled evening of her blend of pop, R&B, swing and musical theatre. ShankTunes featured songs from the recent Off-Broadway production of bare, as well as premieres of brand new songs. The evening was directed by Stafford Arima. Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestra's begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven- o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you some cabaret highlights for this week, including: Under the Covers, The Lady with the Torch, Dare to Dream, A Taylor Swift Love Story, and Freestyle Love Supreme.

For the first the ASCAP New Musical Theatre Workshop was held outside of New York and Los Angles. The Lied Center in Lincoln, Ne and on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln held the workshop in September.

Paper Mill Playhouse hosted the 18th Annual Rising Star Awards - Presented by the Investors Foundation -tonight, June 4th at the Millburn Theater. Schools nominated for Outstanding Overall Production and Leading Actor/Actress nominees performed at the event and award recipients were presented with a crystal award from Tiffany & Co. Summit High School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical. A total of 31 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes. The New Voices Collective will to present NEW VOICES at NYU: A Celebration of Songs by NYU Musical Theatre Writers, Past and Present on Monday, April 16, at 8:00 p.m.

New Voice Collective and NYU Steinhardt School, program in vocal performance, present NEW VOICES AT NYU: A Celebration of Songs by NYU Musical Theatre Writers Past and Present Monday, April 16 at 8:00 PM Frederick Loewe Theatre 35 WEST 4TH STREET. The concert will explore work by current composers in the NYU Musical Theatre writing program, as well as work by some of NYU's most exciting and famous alumni.

Virginia's Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre, through its groundbreaking American Musical Voices Project (AMVP), announces the world premiere of the musical comedy And the Curtain Rises (formerly known as Wheatley's Folly). Beginning performances on Thursday, March 17, 2011, And the Curtain Rises marks the third production presented as part of Signature's AMVP, the largest commissioning program for new musicals in the country, following Michael John LaChiusa's Giant in 2009 and Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees last year. The Washington Post has said that 'Signature's AMVP is the most ambitious embrace of new musical theater in the DC region.'
