The National Alliance of Musical Theatre has announced additions to its 21st Annual Festival of New Musicals, taking place October 19-20 at New World Stages.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) and Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the writers for the Songwriters Showcase, which will be Co-hosted by David Zippel & Dee Hoty as well as additional casting for the eight musicals in the 21st Annual Festival of New Musicals at New World Stages (340 West 50th St) on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20, 2009.

On Tuesday, October 13 Kelli O'Hara returns to the role of Ensign Nellie Forbush in Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC, directed by Bartlett Sher, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Playwrights Horizons will present private readings of MRS. SHARP, a new musical with Book by Kirsten Guenther and Music & Lyrics by Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Ryan Scott Oliver. The show is filmed in a style similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm and chronicles the life of young actor Jake Wilson in New York City.

The hit, online television series THE BATTERY'S DOWN, presented an evening of musical comedy at Joe's Pub entitled: SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE: musical comedy... rethought. April 19th. 'The Battery's Down,' the hit online television series, returns for a second season.
