Students from AMDA, CAP21, Julliard, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Melon, Marymount and The New School made their Broadway debut on the stage of The Town Hall last night, July 19, at the 4th Annual Summer Broadway Festival, created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. This Broadway's Rising Stars program featured music and dance, coupled with witty insider tidbits, all performed by Broadway's finest rising talent from these leading theatrical institutions. The Costume Designers Guild held its 12th annual awards show on Thursday, February 25 at the Beverly Hilton. The awards honor contemporary, period and fantasy costume design in films, TV and commercials.

udiences to the first ever NYC revival of Caroline, or Change at The Gallery Players proved to be generous with more than praise, contributing to a total of $3,495.03 toward the tragedy in Haiti. The Caroline, or Change performers made a direct appeal to the audience after each performance to give what they could towards those affected by the tragedy in Haiti, and the donations proved to be extremely charitable. All funds collected by the company will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

The Gallery Players' 'Caroline, or Change' will close on February 21, 2010.

The Gallery Players, three-time recipient of the New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Production of a Musical, proudly kicks off 2010 with the award-winning modern classic Caroline, or Change.

'Caroline, or Change' will return to New York, performed by the Gallery Players in Brooklyn from January 30 to February 21.

The Costume Designers Guild has announced its nominees for their 12th annual awards show. The awards honor contemporary, period and fantasy costume design in films, TV and commercials. Lou Eyrich of GLEE received a nomination for 'Outstanding Contemporary Television Series', while Colleen Atwood of Rob Marshall's film musical NINE received a nomination nod for the category 'Excellence in Period Film'.

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre will present the final reading in the Gurfein Foundation/Ntozake Shange Play Reading Series: Derek Walcott's new play Marie Laveau, with music by Galt MacDermot. The reading will take place Sunday, June 28th at 3pm, at Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues). Clinton Turner Davis directs a cast that features Arthur Bartow, Trazana Beverley, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Gerard Catus, Lia Chaing, DK Dyson, Stu Richel, Martin Shakar, and Marie Thomas as Marie Laveau.
