Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), returns to Chicago for a limited two-week engagement at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph) tonight, July 14, through July 26, 2015.

In just over two weeks, a parade of long-legged men and women will march into Music Hall at Fair Park, delivering Dallas the national tour of Kinky Boots. As part of Dallas Summer Musical's 75th anniversary season, the show features music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper (yes, that Cyndi Lauper!) and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Kinky Boots is the dazzling, smash-hit Broadway musical based on the 2005 film of the same name. Yesterday, I spoke with Lindsay Nicole Chambers, who stars as Lauren in the Kinky Boots tour. With three Broadway shows under her belt (Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Lysistrata Jones), and now three Broadway national tours (Elf, Hairspray, Kinky Boots), Lindsay is known for her incredible versatility and her incomparable comedic talent. She's also appeared onscreen in Across The Universe, and in Submissions Only, a comedy web series about the casting and audition process for Broadway theatre (written by and featuring some of Broadway's greatest artists). Lindsay is also no stranger to Dallas, having performed at Dallas Theatre Center in the pre-Broadway run of Lysistrata Jones (which was known as Give It Up in Dallas).

Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, a new comedy written by Matt Murphy, based on the best-selling book by Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman, is having its world premiere Off-Broadway at The 777 Theatre (777 Eighth Avenue, between 47th and 48th Streets). Directed by Tim Drucker (writer/director of Spidermusical, co-book writer for the musical Fat Camp) Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man stars Jason Michael Snow (last seen on Broadway in Book of Mormon, and the composer, co-writer and co-producer of the current internet sensation Russian Broadway Shut Down) as Dan, Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones, Forbidden Broadway, "Submissions Only") as Robyn, and Andrew Brewer (Cougar The Musical) as Stefan. Performances began on January 22, 2014. The press opening is set for February 9, 2014. The producers of Gerard Alessandrini's acclaimed FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: ALIVE AND KICKING! are pleased to announce that Lindsay Nicole Chambers will join the cast of the hit musical on Tuesday, February 5 at the 47th Street Theatre (304 West 47th Street). Last seen on Broadway in Lysistrata Jones, Ms. Chambers replaces Jenny Lee Stern whose last performance is Sunday, February 3rd. TRIASSIC PARQ The Musical, 2010's Best Musical winner at FringeNYC, celebrated its Off-Broadway opening night Wednesday, June 27th with a post-performance party at the SoHo Playhouse. The limited engagement is set to run through August 5th. Written by Marshall Pailet, Bryce Norbitz and Stephen Wargo, TRIASSIC PARQ is directed by Mr. Pailet, with choreography by Kyle Mullins and musical direction by Zak Sandler. As first reported by Michael Riedel in the New York Post, the Off-Broadway hit musical LYSISTRATA JONES, which closed on Friday, June 24 at the Judson Memorial Church, is hoping to move to Broadway (with a search led by General Manager Alan Wasser) in the fall with a budget between $6-7 million at a small house, ideally the Broadhurst or the Walter Kerr. Confirming this buzz is an Equity EPA notice today for roles under a Broadway minimum contract. Auditions for all roles and understudies will be taking place on July 22 and July 25 at Pearl Studios.
