Simon is best known for his cannon of wildly successful comedies, and is the only playwright in history to have four shows running on Broadway at the same time: 'The Odd Couple', 'Barefoot in the Park', 'The Star Spangled Girl' and the musical 'Sweet Charity'. He has been nominated 17 times for the Tony Award, has won 3, and also won the Pulitzer Prize for his semi-autobiographical comedy/drama 'Lost in Yonkers'. 'Rumors' is the only true farce that he has added to his extensive body of work.

Cortland Repertory Theatre has announced the nominees for their ninth annual 'Pavilion Awards' which recognize Outstanding Achievement in Local High School Theatre. For the fifth year, First Niagara Bank serves as the Corporate Sponsor for this program, which allows for many categories within the musical and non-musical genres. Musicals in consideration were held at the Cortland, Dryden, Groton, Homer, McGraw and Tully High Schools. Non-musical plays were also presented at Cortland, Homer and Tully.

Cortland Repertory Theatre has announced progress in the renovations of the new "CRT Downtown" facility at 24 Port Watson Street, the former home of the Recreation Bowling Alley.

Cortland Repertory Theatre, one of New York State's longest running professional summer theatres, will celebrate its 40th year of quality live theatre in the summer of 2011.
