To celebrate the founding of Amore Opera in 2009, Artistic Director Nathan Hull has programmed six main-stage opera productions this season.  Jonathan Larson wrote RENT and tick tick BOOM, the former a landmark Broadway game-changer and the latter a beloved musical gem. He was a brilliant, groundbreaking creator of musical theatre who died tragically at the age of 35, before seeing the worldwide acclaim his work would receive. Jonathan was posthumously awarded Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize, and his songs have come to be treasured and performed in 25 languages, from Mexico to Japan to Italy, from summer camps to the silver screen to Broadway.

Victory Gardens Theater Artistic Director Chay Yew, Managing Director Erica Daniels and Director of New Play Development Skyler Gray announce the lineup for the 10th Anniversary IGNITION Festival of New Plays, including Prosthesis by Robert Askins; Untitled Road Trip Play by Lauren Yee; White History by Dave Harris; How to Defend Yourself by Lily Padilla; Seeing Eye by Nick Malakhow; and The First Deep Breath by Lee Edward Colston II. The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera's Artistic Director, opera luminary Lucine Amara, announces the cast performing its debut of Giacomo Puccini's last opera, Turandot. Verismo Opera, the Bergen Performing Arts Center's (bergenPAC) house opera company, presents this dramatic opera set in ancient China on Sunday, April 22, 2018. The performance begins at 3:00 p.m. at the theatre, located at 30 North Van Brunt Street, in Englewood, New Jersey. Previously, Verismo Opera performed act three in concerts in 1997 and in 2009.

Renewal on aisle 4 … NBC's “Superstore” is coming back for a 22-episode fourth season. The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment, and Tracey Pakosta, Co-President, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment.

Fans of the iconic sitcom “Ugly Betty” and NBC's hit comedy SUPERSTORE will be seeing double as America Ferrera reunites with Tony Plana, who played her dad on “Ugly Betty,” and will now be guest starring as her dad on an upcoming, all-new episode of “Superstore”

Renewal on aisle 3 … NBC's SUPERSTORE is coming back for a 22-episode third season. The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.

The partnership between San Francisco Opera and the Bay Area's Classical KDFC continues with monthly broadcasts of performances captured during the Fall 2016 Season, including the world premiere of Bright Sheng and David Henry Hwang's Dream of the Red Chamber, and a historic broadcast from the Company's archives. All performances were recorded live at the War Memorial Opera House and feature the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus (Ian Robertson, Chorus Director).

Want more SUPERSTORE over the holiday break? NBC Digital and the producers of the network's hit Thursday comedy “Superstore” are treating fans with eight all-new digital episodes titled “Superstore Training Videos.”

Capitalizing on the highly-anticipated Rio Olympics, NBC will air special original half-hour episodes of the network's #1-rated comedy, “Superstore,” and TV's #1 reality series, “The Voice,” on Friday, Aug. 19 and Sunday, Aug. 21 (the night of the Closing Ceremony), respectively. Both episodes will begin at 10:30 p.m. following Olympics coverage.
