Beginning May 24, The George Gee 17-piece Big Band will begin a weekly Monday night engagement at Harlem's newest hotspot - Gospel Uptown/GU LIVE! (Located at 2110 Seventh Avenue @ 125th Street). Featuring jazz and blues vocalist John Dokes (in the style of Joe Williams and Billy Eckstine), George Gee and his big band orchestra pay tribute to the swingin' music of Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, Benny Goodman, Chick Webb and many other Savoy Ballroom jazz icons. This marks the return of regular Big Band Jazz to Uptown NYC after a long hiatus.

Nancy Wilson returns to the Blue Note for the first time in ten years for a rare one night only concert. With a career spanning over fifty years, Ms. Wilson has won three Grammy Awards, received an Emmy for her variety show The Nancy Wilson Show, was named an NEA Jazz Master in 2004, and has recorded over 70 albums.

On September 22, 2009, Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter, Jon Secada returns to his roots (no, not his Latin roots, his Jazz roots) with the release of Expressions: The Jazz Album (The Orchard), which will coincide with the kick-off of a week-long engagement at Feinstein's at Loews Regency in New York, a national PBS television special with Jim Brickman (Beautiful World) and, his fourth season starring on Latin American Idol.

For his show at Feinstein?s Secada will celebrate the release of his new CD ? Expressions: The Jazz Album ? a stunning collection of new songs, classic standards and Secada hits. Songs will include the evergreen favorites ?Chances Are? and ?What A Wonderful World,? the Secada hits ?Angel? and ?Just Another Day? with a twist and Jon?s own jazz-flavored arrangements and, some new tunes including ?Find Me In Your Dreams,? a touching tribute to his children.
