A Red Orchid Theatre announces the appointment of Ensemble Member Shade Murray as the company's Associate Artistic Director. Murray's appointment marks the first Associate Artistic Directorship in the company's history. A Red Orchid also welcomes new Development Director Amanda Runge and Audience Services Manager David Marden.

A Red Orchid Theatre hosts a benefit reading of Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches by Tony Kushner. Conceived as a response from Chicago theatre artists to the current political climate, the event's proceeds will benefit A Red Orchid Theatre and the Chicago chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Lipuma, announces a second two-week extension of Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf: A Parody created by Tim Ryder and Tim Sniffen, written by Tim Sniffen and directed by Stuart Carden and Michael Halberstam. Due to demand, the production now runs through August 14, 2016, as the inaugural production of the Gillian Theatre at Writers Theatre's new theater center at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

?Due to popular demand, A Red Orchid Theatre has extended its critically-acclaimed production of Tennessee Williams' The Mutilated, directed by Ensemble Member Dado. The Mutilated will now run through March 13, 2016. The Mutilated features Ensemble Members Lance Baker, Jennifer Engstrom, Mierka Girten, Steve Haggard, Shade Murray, Doug Vickers and Natalie West with Ciera Dawn, Jennifer Glasse, Roy Gonzalez, Mario Hernandez, Morgan Maher, Lauren Vogel and Dominque Worsley.
