BWW Review: HONKY TONK LAUNDRY at Coyote Stageworks is Good Clean Fun
by Kay Kudukis - Feb 4, 2019

Country music is like cilantro. Either you like it or you don't. I fall into the latter category on both. It's not a snobby thing. My dislike for cilantro, I'm told, has to do with genetics and my country gene seems to either be latent or missing. I mean, all of my friends love it, and I'd like to get with the program, I swear. And someday maybe that latent gene will kick in, but for now neither are on my menu nor playlist. So, imagine my surprise when I found myself quite enjoying the two-character musical, Honky Tonk Laundry, a celebration of all things country.

Exclusive Podcast: BROADWAY'S BACKBONE Goes In Depth on Race in Theatre
by Broadway's Backbone - Dec 5, 2017

In this episode: The topic of race in theatre and the whitewashing on the professional stage with special guests Ann Harada and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's Alan H. Green. In this episode, the topics of white privilege, color-blind casting, and the systematic disenfranchisement of people based on the color of their skin are hashed out and discussed at an honest mature level. We live in a time that hatred is spouted so freely, when the ultimate goal should be to see people for what's under their skin. Everyone has an innate worth and sense of equality and that POC are as much as, not less than. The theatre world is known for being all-inclusive, so let's educate ourselves and understand there is enough for everyone.

BWW Review: IN THE HEIGHTS in the Moonlight
by E.H. Reiter - Sep 16, 2017

Before there was HAMILTON, there was Lin-Manuel Miranda's other Tony Award winning show, IN THE HEIGHTS. Though different in story, this is was no less an impactful work as it showcases a Latin community at the top of Manhattan as they struggle to achieve the American dream and redefine what they consider home.
