Porchlight Music Theatre is proud to present the Chicago premiere of Double Trouble, book, music and lyrics by brothers Bob Waltonand Jim Walton, direction and choreography by Matthew Crowle, music direction by Linda Madonia and starring brothers Adrian Aguilar andAlexander Aguilar, August 31 - October 6, at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont Ave. Previews are Saturday, Aug. 31 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1 at 2 and 6 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Opening/Press Night is Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. The regular schedule is Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is a special weekday group matinee: Thursday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30 for previews and $39 for all other performances. Subscriptions to the entire 19th Season are available at porchlightmusictheatre.org or by phone at 773-777-9884. Howard Hawks, the quintessential Hollywood director known for his mastery of many genres, will be the subject of a complete retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from September 7 through November 10, 2013. The Museum will present 39 features. All of the films will be shown in 35mm-many in stunning restorations-except for Red Line 7000, which will be shown in 16mm.
BEN-HUR Remake Heading to the Big Screen

According to Screenrant.com, MGM plans to remake the classic film BEN-HUR. The studio is reportedly get in on the latest Hollywood trend of rebooting Biblical epics by producing a new adaptation of the 1880 novel by Lew Wallace.

The Theatre School at DePaul University's Showcase Series of Contemporary Plays and Classics presents SPRING AWAKENING, book & lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, based on the play by Wedekind, with musical direction by Mark Elliot, and directed by Damon Kiely. This rock musical premieres on Friday, September 28, and runs through Sunday, October 7, 2012, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on September 26 and 27, at 7:30 PM.

Set design is by Simon Higlett, with costumes by Fotini Dimou, lighting by Tim Mitchell, sound by Paul Groothuis and music by Steven Edis. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is produced by the Chichester Festival Theatre, the Theatre Royal Haymarket and Triumph Entertainment Limited.

Following the opening of Terence Rattigan's Flare Path, the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company today (1 April 2011) announce a further two productions to be directed by Trevor Nunn in his role as Artistic Director. After a three week run at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Nunn's production of Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead comes to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in June, followed in September by William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Further productions in the season will be announced shortly.

CAPA's 2009 Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 39th anniversary with a lineup of classics, cult favorites, and most beloved films. The 2009 series will run July 17 - August 30, at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.), and is made possible through the generous support of National City, now a part of PNC.
