Tony Award-winning actor and LGBT advocate Alan Cumming hosted Live Out Loud's Ninth Annual Young Trailblazers Benefit Gala on Monday, April 26th. More than 500 community leaders attended the event, which will took place at the Chelsea Art Museum. The annual event culminated with the awarding of $2500 scholarships to four high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills. The recipients this year are Eric Multer, Brandyn Brunelle, Chelsea Schade, and John Dargan.

Photographer Martha Swope, recipient of the 2004 Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre, will be honored by The Humane Society of New York on Tuesday, April 27 at a Benefit Photography Auction at the DVF Studio, 440 West 14th Street, from 6-9 pm. Swope will be honored with an exhibit of her work taken while she was official photographer for the New York City Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Broadway. Her images include legends such as Baryshnikov, Jerome Robbins, Balanchine, Suzanne Farrell, and Liza Minnelli.

National Park Service & Ford's Theatre Society Honor Abraham Lincoln 4/14, 4/15

The National Park Service and Ford's Theatre Society will commemorate the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's assassination on April 14 and 15, 2010. Events include a wreath-laying ceremony, National Park Service's interpretive talks, performances of the Society's one-act play 'One Destiny,' History on Foot walking tours chronicling the investigation into the Lincoln Assassination Conspiracy, and a discussion and book-signing event with author James Swanson.
