The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis closes its current season with a production of Tray Letts’ tragicomedy AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. Performances begin on March 19th and the show runs through April 7th on the main stage in the Loretto-Hilton Center. AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY is a winner of 5 Tony Awards, including Best Play, and the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The dark comedy examines the dysfunctional dynamics of the Weston Family when they return home for a funeral. Broadway World had the opportunity to sit down with Director Amelia Acosta Powell and Broadway’s Astrid Van Wieren who plays Mattie Faye Aiken to talk about The Rep’s upcoming production.

'Bushwick Beats' Opens the 11th Annual Bushwick Film Festival

The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) has announced details for their official 2018 Opening Night, sponsored by Spectrum. The festivities will kick off on Wednesday, October 10th at House of Yes in Brooklyn with a Red Carpet Reception and screening of 'Bushwick Beats'-a film created by six diverse directors each exploring the theme of unconditional love through varying storylines set under the evolving urban landscape of Bushwick. 'Bushwick Beats' features actors Britt Baron (Glow, Grey's Anatomy), Henny Russell (Orange is the New Black), Britne Oldford (American Horror Story), Marlene Ginader (Maniac), Mugga (Billions), Nadia Dajani (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Hazelle Goodman (Heat, Hannibal), Keenan Jolliff (Monsters and Men, The Get Down, ), Max Baker (Hail, Caesar!, Revolutionary Road).The films directors, along with some cast and crew will join for a Q&A after the screening. The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) are thrilled to announce the winners of the 62nd Annual Obie Awards®. Jennifer Kidwell & Scott R. Sheppard's Underground Railroad Game, produced by Ars Nova, and J.T. Roger's Oslo, produced by Lincoln Center Theater, shared the Obie Awards for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $500 prize each. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel received a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).
