The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival's popular reading series, HVSF2, curated by Christine Scarfuto, will highlight the work of some of America's most celebrated playwrights. Members of the HVSF acting company will be featured in the readings along with several renowned stage and film actors. Readings will take place at The Depot Theatre in Garrison on August 5, 7, 12, and 20. All Readings begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online at the Depot Theater website http://www.philipstowndepottheatre.org/.

This week some of heater's best gathered together to celebrate the 31st Powerhouse Theater season. From Hedwig and the Angry Inch composer Stephen Trask to Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), the event involved a Meet-n-Greet with theater professionals from around the theater community.

The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center just honored stage and screen star Nathan Lane with the Monte Cristo Award, which he received last night, April 13 at the Edison Ballroom. Known for roles as Max Bailystock in the musical The Producers, Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple, and, and recurring roles in Modern Familyand The Good Wife, Lane has created a wide footprint on American stage, film, and television. Other memorable and award winning roles include Albert in The Birdcage, Gomez in The Addams Family, and the voices of Snowbell in Stuart Little and Timon in The Lion King.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that AKA Studio Productions will soon present an industry reading of Diana Amsterdam's The Dodgers. Dave Solomon is set to direct the project, which will star Into the Woods stars Billy Magnussen and Mackenzie Mauzy, along with American Horror Story's Finn Wittrock and Hannah Bos, Greg Hildreth and Preston Sadleir.

For seven weeks, students of the National Theater Institute Semester and the National Music Theater Institute have been studying playwriting and book writing with Donna Di Novelli, paving the way for one of NTI's signature experiences: Playwrights & Librettists Week. This collaborative week supports and amplifies the voices of the next generation of American theater writers under the mentorship of professional playwrights, librettists, and composers. Pavement Group announces their 2014 show, the Midwest Premiere of 'Buddy Cop 2', by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen of the Obie Award-winning The Debate Society (Brooklyn), and directed by company member Cassy Sanders. Pavement Group makes their debut at Theater Wit in Lakeview, tonight, November 25-December 21, 2014.

These are just some of the ways NTI students have responded to working with our alumni company, The Debate Society. The Debate Society is an Obie Award winning, Brooklyn based company that creates new plays through the collaboration of Hannah Bos (writer/performer/NTI Fall '98), Paul Thureen (writer/performer/ NTI Fall '98/ MATS '00), and Oliver Butler (director/developer). The company specializes unexpected stories set in supremely intricate, vividly theatrical worlds.

Ars Nova has announced an additional and final extension of performances for the critically-acclaimed world premiere production Jacuzzi, a new play by Ars Nova's Company-in-Residence The Debate Society, written by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen and directed by Obie Award-winner Oliver Butler. Originally set to play a limited Off-Broadway run through November 1, Jacuzzi recently extended through November 8. Due to high demand, the show has added an additional week of performances and will now play its final performance on Saturday, November 15 at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street). Previews began September 30, with Official Opening Night on October 13.

This week Risk Again explores the rich relationship between the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Theater Institute (est. 1970) and National Playwrights Conference (est. 1964). Both committed to developing new work in a collaborative environment where artists are free to risk and safe to fail.
