Playwrights Horizons and Center Theatre Group have announced casting for THE CHRISTIANS, the New York premiere of a new play by Lucas Hnath (A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney, Isaac's Eye, Death Tax).  Directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters (Doris to Darlene at PH; the recent 10 Out of 12; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; Big Love; eurydice), the play is the opening production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

The first official revival of the play since its premiere in 1986, the dreamer examines his pillow will play a strictly-limited Off-Broadway engagement at The Flea Theater (41 White Street, Tribeca) tonight, July 25th through Saturday, August 15th.

Coming off a celebrated run at the 39th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays in Louisville, Kentucky, Pig Iron Theatre Company brings the rolling World Premiere of I Promised Myself To Live Faster, home for a run at FringeArts. The show is set to run tonight, May 22, through May 31. Opening night is Saturday, May 23 at 8 p.m.

Playwrights Horizons is now accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for up to two $5 tickets each to the New York premiere of THE QUALMS, a new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park and The Pain and the Itch at PH, Domesticated).  Directed by Tony and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park and Completeness at PH; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; this season's A Delicate Balance and The Heidi Chronicles), the play is the final production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.   

After a run in Spring 2014 at Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director, Tim Sanford; Managing Director, Leslie Marcus), the critically acclaimed score of FLY BY NIGHT: A NEW MUSICAL has been recorded, produced and mixed by Emmy Award winner and Grammy Award nominee Michael Croiter (Matilda, Big Fish, Murder Ballad).  The Original Cast recording will be released in digital and CD formats on June 9, 2014, and may be purchased at www.yellowsoundlabel.com and www.PHnyc.org, as well as through online outlets such as iTunes and in stores nationwide. After 15 years of championing what founders termed 'Unproducible' theater, the board and staff of Studio 42 have announced that its 15th Anniversary season will be the organization's last.

The Drama League have announced the exceptional stage directors who have been selected as the 2015 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: Paul Bedard, Estefania Fadul, Aneesha Kudtarkar, Emily Lyon, Brad Raimondo, Austin Regan, Daniel Rogers, Annie Tippe, Sarah Wansley and Brandon Woolf. In addition, an eleventh fellow has been selected for a brand-new fellowship program, which will be revealed during the 81st Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, which will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll (Red Dog Howls, Middletown, What Once We Felt; next season's just-announced Antlia Pneumatica by Anne Washburn at PH), the musical play will be the fifth production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.
