On Monday, August 6th, 2012, at 7 PM, ReGroup Theatre presents the first fully-staged public reading of Nellise Child's 'bitter comedy' WEEP FOR THE VIRGINS in 77 years. The reading celebrates the first-ever publication of the play, along with the first publication of Robert Ardrey's Casey Jones and Mr. Ardrey's classic Group play Thunder Rock. Weep for the Virgins will be performed one night only by the ReGroup on The Irish Rep's Mainstage. Get a first look at the production in the photos below!

Nellise Child's play makes a one night return to the New York stage to celebrate it's first ever publication in The 'Lost' Group Theatre Plays: Vol II.

On November 7th more than 150 theatre artists and patrons attended the 2011 Castillo Theatre Gala Benefit at the All Stars Project's performing arts and development center, 543 West 42nd Street. The gala, which raised a record $77,000 for Castillo and its youth theatre training program, Youth Onstage!, paid tribute to four influential women of the theatre: Carmen de Lavallade, Gabrielle L. Kurlander, Judith Malina and Daphne Rubin-Vega.

Actors' Equity Association (Equity) announced today that The Public Theater's acclaimed production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE is the recipient of its Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2010-2011 Season. The Award will be presented at a reception at the Equity headquarters in New York City on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. In addition, Equity will receive a Mayoral Proclamation, presented by Commissioner Katherine Oliver, designating June 7th as Diversity on Broadway Day.
