Susan Egan was last seen on Broadway in the title role of Thoroughly Modern Millie; she won critical acclaim as Broadway's (longest-running) 'Sally Bowles' inCabaret; originated the starring roles in Triumph of Love and State Fair; and most notably, received both Tony Award and Drama Desk nominations for 'Best Actress' as Broadway's original ‘Belle' in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

One of the many reasons I've been a fan of the Opening Doors Theatre Company since their debut production of Bring Back Birdie two-and-a-half years ago is the consistent ability of their directors and choreographers to have as many as a dozen actors singing and dancing on the small cabaret stage of The Duplex (already occupied by a piano) without ever looking crowded. But that's not a concern with their newest venture, the hilarious and tuneful Cy Coleman/Michael Stewart 1977 musical, I Love My Wife.

Though probably best known to theatre folk as author of the long-running Broadway comedy, Luv, Murray Schisgal first hit it big with the Off-Broadway double bill of one-acts, The Typists and The Tiger, and the short play form continues to be a steady part of the 81-year-old humorist's repertoire.

The Grammy nominated, Ilene Graff and her husband, ASCAP Award-winning composer Ben Lanzarone, gave sold out audiences at Los Angeles' Cabaret at the Castle a night to remember.

Accompanied by her Musical Director-husband Ben Lanzarone, Graff performs songs from Broadway, the movies and the pop world with completely unique interpretations and arrangements. From Harold Arlen to the Beatles, the Bergmans to Sondheim, you've never heard these songs sung the way Ilene does. The afternoon will be hosted by Bea?s Bosom Buddy, Angela Lansbury who will be joined by Bea?s close friends, both professional and personal, as well as family.

The Ali Forney Center has announced its plan to name a residence for LGBT youth in honor of Bea Arthur. AFC will formally announced the honor at Arthur's September 14 memorial service. The event will take place at Broadway's Majestic Theater.
