Broadway stars Justin Guarini, Sally Ann Triplett, and Teal Wicks, as well as Grammy Award winning vocalist Shelley Thomas, paid tribute to the work of Park Avenue Armory Artistic Director, Pierre Audi, and writer/director/producer Cherien Dabis, with a performance last night at the 10th Annual Bridges of Understanding (BOU) Building Bridges Award Dinner at the St. Regis Hotel in NYC. North Carolina Theatre announces the summer production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins. Leading the cast in her North Carolina Theatre debut is Broadway sensation Kara Lindsay as everyone's favorite nanny, 'Mary Poppins' alongside Nicolas Dromard. NC native Eric Woodall is set to direct with choreography by Ryan Kasprzak. NC Theatre's production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins will play July 26-31, 2016 at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.  BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Based on the popular Disney movie of the same name, Mary Poppins tells the story of a mysterious English nanny sent to straighten out the children of the Banks family. The young nanny takes the children on a series of adventures while solving their problems in the most peculiar ways. A touch of magic and a spoonful of sugar transform the Banks family and teach all of us a lesson or two along the way. Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Based on the children's novels by P.L. Travers as well as the classic 1964 Walt Disney film of the same name, Mary Poppins tells the story of a nanny who arrives on the doorstep of the Jane & Michael Banks. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Using a combination of magic and common sense, Mary Poppins must teach the family members how to value each other again.

The inimitable Carol Channing was feted in style on Saturday night as the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California presented Carol Channing's 95th Birthday! In Celebration of a Broadway Legend. The star-studded performance was produced and directed by Chad Hilligus, with music direction and orchestrations by Steven Baker and choreography by Charlie Williams. The British Film Institute will re-release David Lean's epic romance “Doctor Zhivago,” starring  Omar Sharif and Julie Christie, in honor of the film's 50th anniversary.

The new Broadway musical Doctor Zhivago, which opened at the Broadway Theatre on April 21st, 2015, recorded its cast album on Thursday, May 28th. Authors include composer Lucy Simon (The Secret Garden), lyricists Michael Korie (Grey Gardens) and Amy Powers (the two multi-platinum Sunset Boulevard hits) and book writer Michael Weller (screenwriter for Hair and Ragtime). It was announced today that the new Broadway musical Doctor Zhivago, which opened at the Broadway Theatre on April 21st, 2015, will record its cast album on Thursday, May 28th

The new musical DOCTOR ZHIVAGO will play its final performance at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway), Sunday May 10, 2015. DOCTOR ZHIVAGO will have played 26 preview and 23 regular performances.

This week's New York Times In Performance video features DOCTOR ZHIVAGO's Kelli Barrett performing the number 'He's There' from the new Broadway musical which official opens tonight at the Broadway Theater.
