11th Hour Theatre Company presents its only mainstage production of the season, the hilarious, boy-band "holy hit" musical Altar Boyz running May 15-June 1, 2014 at The Arts Bank at the University of the Arts. With a book by Kevin Del Aguila and music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker, Altar Boyz is directed by Megan Nicole O'Brien with an ensemble cast of Robert Hager, Adam Hoyak, Billy Kametz, Michael Linden, and Nicholas Park.

When esteemed actress-director Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo visited the Big Apple a few months ago, she handed BroadwayWorld.com a copy of her latest CD album titled "Light," which contains recordings of some of the best Broadway musicals that she's been a part of; among the tracks, "Light" from NEXT TO NORMAL, whose positive message of family survival overrides the general downward spiral themes of the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, was reassuring, and which Yulo (Diana Goodman) has recorded with co-actors, Jett Pangan (Dan Goodman), Jake Macapagal (Dr. Madden), Felix Rivera (Gabe Goodman), Bea Garcia (Natalie Goodman, and Markki Stroem (Henry), became our instant favorite.

Zeitgeist Stage presents the original Wedekind play in a new adaptation. Spring Awakening, written in the 1890's, is Frank Wedekind's ground breaking play about adolescent sexuality that is the most censored play in theater history, not getting produced as originally written for 75 years. The show examines the lives of teenagers in provincial Germany as their sexual awakenings are repressed by the conservative society of their parents.
