Netflix and OWN announced today that the closing night of Netflix's Emmy® FYSEE showcase, featuring a special in-depth conversation hosted by executive producer Oprah Winfrey, with Emmy®-winner Ava DuVernay and the cast of their four-part limited series, When They See Us – will be recorded to premiere on Netflix and OWN, Wednesday June 12 at 10p ET/PT (immediately following the Season Four premiere of DuVernay's critically acclaimed “Queen Sugar” at 9p on OWN). Oprah Winfrey Presents When They See Us Now, will also feature Winfrey's sit down interview with The Exonerated Five men of the Central Park Five 1989 case for the very first time. These conversations, closing out Netflix's immersive FYSEE experience, will take place at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 9th.

Based on a true story that gripped the country, When They See Us will chronicle the notorious case of five teenagers of color, labeled the Central Park Five, who were convicted of a rape they did not commit. The four part limited series will focus on the five teenagers from Harlem -- Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise. Beginning in the spring of 1989, when the teenagers were first questioned about the incident, the series will span 25 years, highlighting their exoneration in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.

IFC Center Announces Lineup for 2019 Split Screens Festival

IFC Center today announced an impressive and wide-ranging lineup for the third annual Split Screens Festival (www.splitscreensfestival.com) taking place Wednesday, May 29 through Monday, June 3, 2019, at the IFC Center in New York City. The festival consists of special events offering a variety of looks at history, identity and the mystery of existence itself, including panels on series that explore dystopian realities and alternate timelines, and screenings that transport us into any number of time periods and places, be it a late-1800s South Dakota town or the height of 1980s ballroom culture in New York City.

The Actors' Gang presents VIOLENCE: The Misadventures of Spike Spangle, Farmer, written by The Actors' Gang Artistic Director Tim Robbins and Adam Simon and directed by Bob Turton, who was most recently seen at The Actors' Gang as "The Maniac" in Accidental Death of an Anarchist. This no-holds barred satire of militarism and media manipulation begins performances May 2nd (Press Opening May 11th at 8:00pm) and will run Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, through June 22nd.

ABC News' “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.284 million) during the week of April 1, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” beat CBS' “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.247 million) by 37,000 and NBC's “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (1.241 million) by 43,000.

News emerged today that Hollywood actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were among 50 wealthy people charged in a college cheating scam dumbed 'Varsity Blues', in which they allegedly paid bribes of up to $6 million to secure places for their offspring at top universities. In a strange twist of fate, the breaking story coincides with the UK opening of Joshua Harmon's incendiary satire Admissions, which demonstrates that even those with the most devout liberal principles about progress and fairness can falter when it comes to their own family and self-interest.

The Actors' Gang Theater Announces One Act Festival, March 14 - April 20

The Actors' Gang presents One Act Festival, featuring two contrasting programs performed in repertory. Show one, entitled The Classic, begins performances March 14th (press opening March 23) and features two classic one-act plays -- Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit, directed by Brian T. Finney, and Samuel Beckett's Krapps's Last Tape, directed by Cynthia Ettinger. Show two, entitled The Original, begins performances March 16 (Press Opening March 29) and features three new one-act plays written, directed, and acted by The Actors Gang ensemble:  Tradition, written by James Edward Bane and directed by Tess Vidal, A Perfect World, written by Lynde Houck and directed by Danielle Powell, and Clean Slate, written by Bob Turton and directed by Zoe Hall. Both programs will run Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, through April 20th.  

Netflix to Release Ava DuVernay's WHEN THEY SEE US on May 31

In 1989, the media dubbed them the Central Park Five and they were forever linked together by that moniker. On May 31, their true story will come to Netflix as a four-part limited series from Academy Award® Nominee and two-time Emmy Award® Winner Ava DuVernay.  Now titled When They See Us, the series is based on the stories of the five men who were wrongly accused of a crime they did not commit.

The stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, began previews on October 6th and opened October 13th.

VH1 today announced the guest judges set to join the highly anticipated fourth season of “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.” RuPaul will be joined by a star-studded line-up of celebrities, alongside show regulars Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Mathews, as they decide who will stay, lip-sync for their legacy, or “sashay away.” “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars” follows the record-breaking tenth season of VH1's “RuPaul's Drag Race,” which just became the first show to ever win an Emmy® Award in both the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program categories in the same year. The Actors' Gang announced today that the stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, will kick off The Actors' Gang 2018/19 Season from Saturday, October 6th to Saturday, November 10th, 2018. The press opening is Saturday, October 13.
