August 25th marks the 70th anniversary of the national release of the iconic movie classic 'The Wizard of Oz.' Sam Arlen , the son of the musical wizard Harold Arlen who penned the famous movie score including the Oscar winning song, 'Over The Rainbow,' created the foundation to teach children and under-served audiences the cultural importance of The Jazz Pop standard, an indigenous American art form.

Zowie Bowie, one of the most popular acts in Las Vegas for the past several years, is moving to the Las Vegas Strip. Theatre impresario and Broadway producer Shelly Gross passed away on June 19, 2009, in West Palm Beach, Florida, after a long illness. With a career that spanned over fifty years, he created an unprecedented number of theatre operations around the country, produced shows for Broadway & National Tours and presented a who's who of legendary performers including everyone from Judy Garland to Bruce Springsteen. He was 88 years old.

For one night only, Tony Award winner Tammy Grimes and Joe Sirola to star in Love from Shakespeare to Coward Monday, April 27 at 7PM National Arts Club Tammy Grimes and Joe Sirola will make a command performance as they celebrate almost 50 years since they shared the stage together in the Broadway musical The Unsinkable Molly Brown.

The New York Pops led by Vincent Falcone and Eric Stern, celebrates its hometown on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 8 p.m. at Carnegie Hall in a program entitled 'A Love Letter to New York' featuring classic songs about New York City and the world premieres of original songs about the city by composer Kenneth Laub. Clint Holmes headlines the concert with special guests Ashley Brown, Laura Bell Bundy and Linda Hart. The program also includes songs by Stephen Sondheim and Cole Porter. Ms. Bundy, Ms. Hart, and Mr. Holmes will make their Carnegie Hall debuts.

Record producer Michael Berniker died in his Massachusetts home today last Friday July 25h at age 73. The cause of death was complications from kidney disease.

FEINSTEIN'S AT THE REGENCY is proud to present the debut engagement of TV and Broadway star MIMI HINES from March 29 - April 2. In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of her starring role on Broadway in Funny Girl, and the centennial celebration of the show's composer Jule Styne, Ms. Hines will feature songs from the legendary score including 'People,' 'Don't Rain On My Parade' and 'I'm The Greatest Star.' Also included in the show are selections such as 'Till There Was You,' 'And I Was Beautiful' and 'My Shining Hour.' Ms. Hines will be joined by musical director Fred Barton.
