The fourth annual FilmTwo Initiative launches today in LA to support the career sustainability of thirteen artists developing their second features. FilmTwo encompasses two days of focused programming, including a writing workshop (led by Joan Tewkesbury), industry mentoring sessions, and one-on-one story meetings, kicking off a year of tailored creative and tactical support as part of the Institute's continuum of support for artists at key inflection points in their careers. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup. Continuing its tradition of elevating exceptional storytelling rooted in today's global film communities, the 18th annual Festival will showcase debut works from emerging talent and new works from notable filmmakers. The program includes discoveries, comedies, music-centered, political and social films. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds hosted a reception in New York at Feinstein's / 54 Below followed by a special screening of "Mary Poppins Returns," nominated for 4 Golden Globe® Awards including Best Picture, 9 Critics' Choice Awards and AFI's Top 10 Films of 2018, earlier tonight. The film's star Emily Blunt, Rob Marshall (Director), John DeLuca (Producer), David Magee (Screenwriter), Marc Shaiman (Composer, Songwriter/Co-lyricist) and Scott Wittman (Co-lyricist) joined the couple at the reception. Also in attendance were Morena Baccarin, Corbin Bleu, Harry Connick Jr., Tony Lo Bianco, Ben McKenzie, and Dayo Okeniyi. 

Marc Shaiman, composer and co-lyricist of Mary Poppins Returns, recently performed a song from the film titled 'The Place Where Lost Things Go,' at an event hosted by Sirius XM.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival is set to honor the cast of "Mary Poppins Returns" with the Ensemble Performance Award, according to Variety.

Disney has released a featurette which goes behind-the-scenes on the biggest song-and-dance number, 'Trip a Little Light Fantastic' from Disney's 'Mary Poppins Returns,' nominated for 4 Golden Globe® Awards including Best Picture, 9 Critics' Choice Awards and AFI's Top 10 Films of 2018.

Mary Poppins Returns officially came to cinemas yesterday, December 19. BroadwayWorld was there to celebrate the big day at the New York screening, with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emily Blunt, and many more stars!

According to Deadline, Mary Poppins Returns brought in an estimated $4.8M for its opening day Wednesday, despite industry midday projections that had the film in the $7M-$8M vicinity.
