The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is pleased to announce its upcoming Lexus Pops in the Park concert. This free Labor Day Weekend concert will take place at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis tonight, September 1 at 5:30 PM. The rain date is September 2, same time, same place.

Screen Gems Lands Rights to Young Adult Series BLACK CITY

Screen Gems has preemptively closed a deal to develop the feature film based on the highly anticipated young-adult fantasy series ?Black City? written by Elizabeth Richards. The first book in the series, ?Black City,? will be released this coming November 13 via publisher Putnam Juvenile, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers Group. Screen Gems moved quickly to complete the rights deal for the series based on the high level of anticipation for the property in the online community and other young adult circles. Screen Gems is currently searching for a screenwriter to adapt the material for film.

February 2nd marked the opening night for the Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) world premiere of the new play, Rx, written by Kate Fodor. Directed by Ethan McSweeny, the cast features Michael Bakkensen, Marylouise Burke, Marin Hinkle, Stephen Kunken, Paul Niebanck, and Elizabeth Rich. Rx will have set design by Lee Savage, costume design by Andrea Lauer, lighting design by Matthew Richards, original music and sound design by Lindsay Jones, and prop supervision by Faye Armon.
