The Consulate General of Saint Lucia in New York announced the premiere of 'ASCENSION...I am not my Mother,' an independent film written and produced by Saint Lucian Demedrius Charles. Part of a month-long celebration commemorating Saint Lucia's 36th anniversary of independence, the premiere is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 6:00PM at the Taipei Economic and Culture Center, located at 1 E 42nd Street, Manhattan, New York. This distinguished event will also feature NIGHT JAZMIN Perfumes V.I.P giveaways from NIGHT JAZMIN PRODUCTIONS.

BCAP/BPT's UNCLE JACK to Open Next Week

The Boston Center for American Performance (BCAP) and Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) co-production of Michael Hammond's comedy Uncle Jack opens next week. Running from February 12 to March 1 at the Boston University Theatre's Lane-Comley Studio 210, the newest play from Boston University's New Play Initiative is directed by the playwright.

Theaters are now producing several of the plays presented during BY LOCAL, including Monica Wood's PAPERMAKER at Portland Stage Company and Callie Kimball's ALLIGATOR ROAD at Mad Horse Theatre. BY LOCAL has proven that audiences are interested in new plays by Maine playwrights, and the series has been instrumental in championing these fresh, vital new works.

Joseph Marcell is best known for his role on the hit '90s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, in which he played Geoffrey, the butler. Since then, this former comedy star has taken up Shakespeare and is now on an international tour as the title character in The Globe Theatre's production of KING LEAR. The Poets' Theatre has announced that it is reorganizing and planning to present a full season of programming in 2014-2015. This historic Cambridge based organization will be led by Robert Scanlan, as President and Artistic Director, Benjamin Evett as the new Producing Artistic Director, and David Gullette as Literary Director. Scanlan, Evett, and Gullette have been charged by the Board of Directors to bring The Poets' Theatre back to prominence after more than a decade of inactivity. The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, New York Live Arts' Resident Dance Company, announced today the touring programs and productions for the 2014-2015 Season. The Company will perform and conduct residencies in more than 11 cities in eight states over the next 12 months, making their debut at a number of venues across the U.S. Highlights of the 2014-2015 Season include the New York City premiere of Story/Time (35, 36, 37 & 38) November 4 - 8 and 11 - 15 on the Company's home stage at the New York Live Arts theater; the world premiere of Analogy (working title) in June 2015 at Montclair State University; the Company debut at Dancers' Workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and more.
