The Old Globe announced it will present the eighth annual Powers New Voices Festival, a weekend of readings of new American plays by some of the most exciting playwrights writing for the American theatre today.

Back for another incredible year, the family favorite features the songs 'Santa for a Day,' 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,' and 'Welcome, Christmas (Fah Who Doraze),' the delightful carol from the popular animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

EBENEZER SCROOGE’S BIG SAN DIEGO CHRISTMAS SHOW is back in town bringing a fast-paced, fun, and infused with local inspiration version of Dicken’s holiday tale to life.  Bill Buell who plays Scrooge talks about his history with the story, and the fun of bringing this reimagined story to the stage of The Old Globe through December 26th.

The production runs November 10, 2021 – December 31, 2021 at the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Regular ticket prices start at $29, and children’s (17 years and under) ticket prices start at $19. The San Diego Symphony today announced its winter-spring 2022 concert season, offering 31 performances of classical and contemporary masterworks and chamber music from January 15 through May 28. Presented as “Hear Us Here,” the season will give the San Diego Symphony the opportunity to bring its music to a wider audience, with concerts performed at nine venues in the city and across the County, including the Symphony's newest venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.

The six-week limited engagement of Ebenezer Scrooge’s BIG San Diego Christmas Show plays in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe’s Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, from November 19 to December 26, with the official opening night on Tuesday, November 23.

The Old Globe announced today its full cast and creative team for the live, in-person return of Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The cast will be led by Andrew Polec as The Grinch. Polec returns to The Old Globe after his performance as Berger in the 2021 summer hit production of Hair, The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical.

San Diego Opera's safe return to indoor performances began last week with the first of three intimate concerts showcasing some of today's most exciting singers with a varied and diverse repertoire of opera, show tunes, spirituals, and zarzuela. The first concert, featuring mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe exploring the songs of Johnny Mercer, occurred this past Saturday to popular and critical acclaim.

New Village Arts is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the announcement of a season of plays that includes two world premieres, and a residency at Oceanside Theatre Company while the renovation of its home theatre in the heart of Carlsbad Village is completed.

New Village Arts, North County's cultural hub, announces THE NEXT STAGE, a $2.5 million fundraising campaign to renovate its theatre in the heart of Carlsbad. Thanks to major support from The Conrad Prebys Foundation and The Sahm Family Foundation, the Next Stage campaign has already raised $2 million and has $500,000 left to raise to meet its target.

Just two days before the opening performance of the American tribal love-rock musical Hair and amid strong demand in tickets, The Old Globe announced a one-week extension of the show due to popular demand. Resident Artist James Vásquez (The Old Globe’s American Mariachi and Tiny Beautiful Things) directs a cast of 16.
