Sheffield Theatres has announced that its production of My Fair Lady has been nominated for Best Regional Production at this year's WhatsOnStage Awards.

The Guthrie welcomes the triumphant return of Kneehigh, creators of the smash hit adaptation of Brief Encounter, to present their critically acclaimed production of Tristan & Yseult this season. Director Emma Rice and designer Bill Mitchell reunite to create a must-see theatrical experience that reinvents the ancient love story with comedy, live music, grand passion and tender truths in an irresistible night of love. According to the Daily Mail, Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical STEPHEN WARD is still searching for a West End venue, with hopes to begin rehearsals in October in time for November previews. Lloyd Webber is looking for a mid-sized theatre; if the right one is not booked soon, the musical will be pushed back until late spring or early summer 2014.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is at work on a musical based on the events surrounding the 1963 Profumo Affair. Today, the Daily Mail has confirmed that Lloyd Webber will be leading a sing-through of the musical's score with Alexander Hanson as Stephen Ward and Hal Fowler as Profumo. Joining them will be Iris Roberts as Christine Keeler, and Carly Bawden as Mandy Rice Davies.

Daniel Evans' crowd-pleasing take on the musical opens in Sheffield

My Fair Lady dances into the Crucible Theatre this Christmas, rounding off Sheffield Theatres' autumn season in spectacular style from Wednesday 12 December 2012 - Saturday 26 January 2013.

Artistic Director Daniel Evans today unveils Sheffield Theatres' spring season for 2013, which includes two world premieres - Bull, a new play by Mike Bartlett, and This Is My Family, a new musical comedy by Tim Firth; major revivals of D.H. Lawrence's masterpiece The Daughter-in-Law and Alan Bennett's The History Boys, and Sheffield People's Theatre present their second production, 20 Tiny Plays about Sheffield. Full casting for My Fair Lady, the Crucible Christmas musical is also announced today.

Dominic West, who is currently rehearsing for his role as Professor Higgins in Sheffield's Crucible Theatre production of My Fair Lady, also takes the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs stage each night in Jez Butterworth's The River, running through November 17.

The full cast is announced for Sheffield Theatres' production of Simon Beaufoy's The Full Monty directed by the company's Artistic Director Daniel Evans. Leading the company are Kenny Doughty, Craig Gazey, Simon Rouse, Keiran O'Brien,Roger Morlidge and Sidney Cole.

On Sunday, 12 August, 2012, David Suchet met the cast of Threesixty Entertainment's The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in Kensington Gardens. Suchet recorded the voice of Aslan, a giant puppet, for the production back in May while performing in the West End play Long Day's Journey Into Night, which closes at the Apollo Theatre on Saturday, 18th August.
