Since its inception, the annual Bard SummerScape festival has presented a series of stellar revivals of important but neglected operas. This year's immersion in “Rachmaninoff and His World” features The Silent Woman (“Die Schweigsame Frau”), the only true comic opera by Rachmaninoff's close contemporary Richard Strauss.
Quintessence Theatre to Stage THE WINTER'S TALE and THE ALCHEMIST

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, continues Season XII: Breaking the Cycle with repertory productions of William Shakespeare’s genre-defying romance The Winter’s Tale and Ben Jonson’s satirical farce The Alchemist. The repertory starts previews March 16, with an Opening Weekend Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26.
Bard SummerScape 2022 Announced

Laila Robins Replaces Kate Burton in SEJANUS, HIS FALL

Today, Red Bull Theater announced that Laila Robins will join the cast of the first public presentation of a new dramatization of Ben Jonson’s Sejanus, His Fall, adapted and directed by Nathan Winkelstein, Red Bull’s Associate Artistic Director. Ms Robins replaces the previously announced Kate Burton, who withdrew due to a scheduling conflict.
