Matt Gillett To Play The Childcatcher In CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG UK Tour

Music & Lyrics and West Yorkshire Playhouse have announced that Matt Gillett will take the role of The Childcatcher in the much-loved Sherman Brothers musical CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, which is touring across the UK and Ireland until February 2017. Matt was already a part of the ensemble when the producers discovered his talent for playing this iconic role. John Stalker, Executive Producer of Music & Lyrics, said: 'We are delighted to offer Matt this starring role having understudied the part of The Childcatcher since the beginning of the show in Leeds. Matt's performance will have everyone on the edge of their seats!' Martin Kemp, who currently plays The Childcatcher, leaves the production on April 24 and Matt will be taking over the role from May 4 in Milton Keynes.
HAIRSPRAY Announces Second UK Tour in 2017/18

Today, producer Mark Goucher has confirmed that following the phenomenal success of the current UK tour, the new production of Hairspray will return at the end of summer 2017 to once again tour the UK. This second tour of the smash hit musical will visit venues across the country until the spring of 2018. Casting, dates and locations for the 2017/18 tour will be announced in due course.

?Further casting has been announced for the Music & Lyrics Limited and West Yorkshire Playhouse production of the much-loved Sherman Brothers musical CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. Phill Jupitus (The Producers, Hairspray), who currently plays the roles of Lord Scrumptious and Baron Bomburst, is set to return to the show from 24 August, coming to the King's Theatre Glasgow from Wednesday 19 until Saturday 29 October 2016.
Tim Etchells Recieves 2016 Spalding Gray Award

The Spalding Gray National Consortium is pleased to announce that theater-maker and visual artist Tim Etchells is the recipient of the 2016 Spalding Gray Award. Named after the groundbreaking monologist Spalding Gray (1941-2004), the award is sponsored by a consortium that includes Kathleen Russo, Gray's widow; Performance Space 122; the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis;The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh; and On the Boards in Seattle. The Award comes with a $20,000 commission to create a new work and provides for a full production of that work presented by each organization. Past recipients include Richard Maxwell, Rabih Mroue, National Theater of the United States of America, Radiohole, and Heather Woodbury.

The Sound of Music has seen several UK tours and productions over recent years and the Curve has decided to produce yet another version of the show for its Christmas production this year. Some say it's been done to death and Bill Kenwright has just announced another tour featuring Danielle Hope as Maria but the Curve somehow always manages to find something fresh. The full cast has been announced for the new production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical OKLAHOMA! presented by Music & Lyrics Limited and Royal & Derngate Northampton.
From the award-winning producers of the highly successful tours of The King and I and Fiddler on the Roof, this new production of one of the great classic American musicals will feature Lucy May Barker as Ado Annie, James O'Connell as Will Parker, Paul Grunert as Andrew Carnes, Kara Lane as Gertie Cummings, Christopher D Hunt as Cord Elam and Barnaby Thompson as Ike Skidmore. Also in the cast are Simon Anthony, Christina Bennington, Robbie Boyle, Katie Marie-Carter, Lisa Dent, Emilie du Leslay, Ian Gareth-Jones, Hannah Grace, Ross Lee Fowkes, Perry O'Dea, Sasi Strallen and Gabriella Stylianou. They join the previously announced Belinda Lang as Aunt Eller, Gary Wilmot as Ali Hakim, Ashley Day as Curly, Charlotte Wakefield as Laurey and Nic Greenshields as Jud Fry.
