You may have seen a 24 hour play festival before, but never like this! HERE WE GO will present their very own site specific 24 hour play festival taking place entirely on the ZOOM platform. On Saturday May 3rd 2020 at 8:00pm, 5 womxn identifying playwrights will be given the challenging task of writing a short play all in 12 hours.

The QuaranStream Theatre Festival is a week-long virtual festival of short plays and performances created specifically for live-streaming. Each show is created, directed and performed by theatre artists around the world; all from the safety of their homes! During the festival, over 70 artists will take the virtual stage to showcase their creative quarantine innovations!

BoxFest Detroit, an annual theatre festival that showcases and creates opportunities for female-identifying directors, has announced the schedule for its 2019 festival. BoxFest Detroit 2019 runs Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons and evenings, August 16 a?" 24, at Planet Ant Theatre. Planet Ant Theatre is located at 2357 Caniff, Hamtramck, MI, 48212. Admission is payable by cash and credit cards at the door with day passes for $10. A limited number of festival passes are on sale for $30 and may also be purchased at the door. Ixion Ensemble announces its final show of the 2018-2019 season, Hope, a collection of eight one-act plays. Hope will be performed at the Robin Theatre, 1105 S. This international playwriting coalition, founded by Jess Eisenberg, involves playwrights across the world who have signed on to write one or more plays about extraordinary women in both past and present history. The project's ambitious yet focused goal is to write women back into the social consciousness, as well as empower and promote female playwrights, and plant seeds of herstory around the country.

2Cents Theatre Group's popular 3-day festival of female playwrights is back for year FIVE! We are once again gathering around 100 artists for this one-of-a-kind event, from playwrights to directors to actors and street artists, to celebrate the FEMALE PLAYWRIGHT and ART! The Fest will take place March 9-11 at the Hudson Theatres in Hollywood, right in the heart of Theatre Row and the Los Angeles 99-seat community.

This season over 75 California Playwrights have been invited by PlayGround to write ten-minute plays in competition for Monday Night PlayGround Readings. In San Francisco and Los Angeles well over 1,000 audience members statewide have seen the winning 26 plays  to date. Play topics have included Reap What You Sow, Probable Future Or Possible Future, Home For The Holidays  and In The Beginning… This February cycle invites playwrights to write ten-minute plays inspired by "TALL TALES" for Monday Night PlayGround Readings on February 12, 8PM at the Zephyr Theatre in Los Angeles and on February 19, 8PM at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley.

Fantastic.Z Theatre's festival of short plays celebrates the female experience within the LGBTQ community.

PlayGround is the only theatre company in California to have Statewide, Northern, and Southern California New Play Competitions. PlayGround's 78 Member Statewide Writers Company, primarily based in San Francisco and Los Angeles, compete to write original plays in four-and-a-half days. The tremendous diversity of California has infused the writers pool with many writers new, not only to California, but to the rest of the country as well. Broads' Word Ensemble, in partnership with the Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative (LAFPI), announces LA Broads: a staged reading festival of original 15-minute plays and short excerpts of original full-length scripts from Los Angeles based female playwrights. Each play is partnered with a female director to tell a woman's story with at least 50% female cast.

Los Angeles playwright Marlan Warren's play, Chasing Sangha, has been selected for Athena Cats' New Works Festival of 10-Minute Plays, and will be performed as a staged reading Sat., April 8, at the City Garage in Santa Monica's Bergamot Station Arts Center.

The Athena Cats New Works Festival -  The Athena Cats, a collective of Southern California female playwrights and directors, presents staged readings of new 10-minutes plays written and directed by women playwrights as part of SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now Day).
