The Blank Theatre Company's 19th Annual Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival has chosen 12 plays by teenaged playwrights, aged 14 -19, from six different states.

Fresh Ground Pepper NYC (www.freshgroundpeppernyc.com) hosts their annual Toobie Awards! To be held at 3LD Art and Technology Center on May 21st, the Toobies promise to be an awards show like no other-including live performances from artists such as Political Subversities, Drama Desk Nominee Adam Cochran and Andrew Scoville, Nikki Calonge, Stevo Arnoczy, HOUSE, and many more. Last night, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone hosted the ceremony, which honored the best of Broadway and off in the 2009-2010 season. The Blank Theatre Company's 18th Annual Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival has chosen twelve winning plays by teenaged playwrights, aged 14 -19 from six different states. The winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in the month-long Festival at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood beginning June 3, 2010.
