The Granite Theatre of Westerly announces the opening of 'A Christmas Carol - The Musical' conceived and adapted by Stephen DeCesare with music and lyrics by Stephen DeCesare. The show opens Today, November 25, 2016 and runs all Thursdays, Todays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm through December 23, 2016. Producer/ Artistic Director for the theatre is David Jepson. Mackenzie Ziegler ('Dance Moms') and Casey Simpson (Nickelodeon's 'Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn') hosted Lyrics For Life on Sat, Sept 10, 2016 at Symphony Space. Held on World Suicide Prevention Day, the event aims to raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health. Proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the nation's largest non-profit dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), currently celebrating its fourth season in its state-of-the-art theatre in Warwick, is pleased to announce its third annual benefit concert presentations - Movie Musicals Live! starring OSTC "kid" alumni on Saturday, January 9 and A Night of Broadway Classics starring Fred Scheff on Saturday, January 16.

Thommie Retter, (Billy Elliot) and Retter Entertainment provide unique opportunities for aspiring young performers through This Way To Broadway, Live! a series of workshops culminating in showcase opportunities, including singing, acting, and dancing.

While it seems that some musicals are constantly produced and have been seen by every theatergoer alive, others seem more elusive. For example, there's no good explanation for why so many people have mentioned recently that they've never seen the musical Gypsy. 'Oh, I know the songs,' they all say. Immediately followed by, 'But I've never seen the actual show.' If you are among that number, Ocean State Theatre Company has just what you need, a nearly perfect production of this classic and beloved musical.
